Yes. All of them. We have been doing a poor job of cracking down on guns. Look into the Guns for Money scandal where the US government sold weapons to drug cartels to track the shiptment and make arressts, but than could not track the shiptments and made no arresst. just sold guns to them.

Ending the war on drugs and legalizing all drugs would effectively completely solve the problem. The border war is entirely the fault of failed US policy.

To those saying "build a fence", you are effectively implying the border needs to be guarded better. This is actually worse for illegal immigration. By enforcing stronger border control, you make it much harder to cross the border - in both directions, this usually means that those illegal immigrants who come to the US, are far more likely to stay. In the past, almost half of the people who crossed the border illegally, went back again within 1 year. This is no longer the case.

That's just ignorant. Because that's a completely different problem from the one stated in the OP. Building a better fence wouldn't stop the cartels, giving asylum to the illegals won't do anything either. Enforcing the law, yes. 

The U.S. needs to consume less drugs, Mexico needs no consume less weapons.

The US doesn't need to consume fewer drugs, it just needs to source the drugs from a different source. The drug cartels couldn't compete with legitamite business.

Round up the illegals and ship them back. Also harsher drug laws.
