does this mean Socom will go multiplatform?

Wait, so does this mean Socom will go multiplatform? Or will it need a new developer o.O?

Sony owns the Zipper IP, so Sony's going to have to find a new developer for it...if they decide to keep the series going.

best case scenario the ips go to new (more capable imo) developers within Sony, worst case that go on hiatus for a long time

highly doubt this has anything to do with Vita

if only they had made Socom worth playing.

I knew that they made SOCOM and MAG, both games I don't care about, so their closure didn't really bother me. Then I looked them up to see if they did anything else only to learn that they also made Crimson Skies and MechWarrior 3, which I both enjoyed immensely. Now I'm kinda sad and left wondering why they kept making those crappy shooters. Were they forced by Sony to keep making them or was there simply no creativity left in the studio?

Goodbye Zipper Interactive, I never really knew you. *wave*

What was the last time a Sony studio shut its doors?

I think it's another April Fools joke.
