Die Hard 5 is going to suck. There's just no way around it. This guy did the Max Payne movie, The Omen, Behind Enemy Lines etc...all bad or mediocre.

You forgot to mention that he also directed the sucky remake of Flight of the Phoenix.  But I totally agree with you, going by John Moore's body of work Die Hard 5 is going to suck hard.  It opening in February isn't a good sign either most terrible movies open in January and February.

I actually was browsing IMDB just yesterday and checked out Gangster Squad. I saw it had been moved to January and people in the forums were saying that's a very bad sign. I hope that movie will be good :/

It was moved to January due to the theater shooting in Colorado.  I think they either edited a scene or reshoot part of the movie because of that still should be decent.   Just checked the wikipedia page for it they did reshoot part of the movie due to what happened in Aurora.  Anyway the movie was to be released in September first so it only a short delay so its still not a bad sign when a movie gets delayed for more then six month its usually a bad sign and means the movie will be bad and most likely bomb at the box office.  It being moved to January could actually help out its box office total since the competition will be pretty weak.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journy was Warner Brothers big release for December.  I guess the didn't want it to compete with that.

I consider older movies pre 1980's.  Let's see how about The Godfather Part 2, The Frech Connection, Jaws, Bullit (don't like as much as everyone else still a decent movie with a great car chase scene) , Papillon, The Wild Bunch, Rocky, "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", Spartacus, Dr. Zhivago, The Magnificent Seven, Once Upon a Time in the West, For a Few Dollars More, A Fistful of Dollars, Star Wars, The Birds, Vertigo, Rear Window, North by Northwest, Planet of the Apes, The Bridge on the River Kwai, The Great Escape, Yojimbo, Alien, Halloween, Midnight Express, THe Rescuers, Blazing Saddles, Dirty Harry, Patton, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Charade.  If you want something more recent I can give you a some suggestions for stuff from the 80's, 90's and early 00's in another reply.

I have seen most of those movies and Rocky is of my favs if not my favourite movie. But Rise of the Planet of the Apes is better then the first one imo. I still have to watch bullit

Still haven't seen Rise of the Planet of the Apes yet but I will probably like it better then the first movie also but that being said the first one is still pretty good and one of the better movies of the 60's it has pretty good special effect for the time and excellent use of makeup.  2001: A Space Odyssey is probably the best movie from the 60's when it comes to special effect but I think besides having good special effect and cinematography the movie is very boring and one of the most overrated movies ever.

Guys the Hobbit was awesome

I love how the whole movie is about going on an adventure! I know it has a serious story behind it, but its not really the focus of the movie.

The thing about the lord of the rings is that it takes a serious tone very earlier on...the hobbit is quite different in that regard.

In a way the Hobbit is more of a homage to Tolkiens world...apparently they have added quite a bit in addition to the actual story in the book, which is why its 3 movies. I love it!
