Forums - Microsoft - Sign up for six months XBL, get Halo Reach, Fable III and more for free

The difference is your speculation was proven wrong, and his wasn't. This promotion has absoluetely nothing to do with keeping developers microsoft owns under their wing. That makes no sense. And obviously they aren't being given out for free, hence why microsoft is giving them out with xbox live suscriptions in the hopes of getting more gold members. While on the other hand his speculation is just that speculation. You can't really say if its wrong or not because you don't know what microsoft's relationship with a hypothetical publisher is.

Your point is taken and noted. Still there is no reason for them to go full retard like if I offended them, but as of this moment it just proves my other point in my second post in their lack of comprehension skills. You just have to read the other guys comment to see.

sounds like a desperate move to keep those devs under their wing for next gen.

I have no idea what that has to do with XBL, but hey it's a free world say what you want.

I'll do my best to elaborate.

Deal to subscribe to XBL =  get free copy of Halo Reach, and Fable III etc..

The developers of those games is not just going to hand them out for free... Who do you think is paying for it?

This is all speculations.

Are you aware Microsoft owns all the games listed? I would imagine MS can give them out as they please.

Even if they weren't MS IPs, I would just assume MS had a good relationship with the publishers. You Sony fans reach too far to bash MS, its pathetic.

Mr Puggsly and epicberserk. Can both of you read and comprehend English? I said in my own post that it was all speculations, as in not to be regarded as facts, and I was explaining it to him. Are you so butthurt over that, that you have to comment on speculations? xbox fanboys at your wost seriously.

What I underline in your own post is an example of a speculation. Now have a nice day.

I comprehend English well enough to sense when a Sony fan is reaching for any negative spin on something MS related. You did not speculate both sides or even give your thoughts on the deal. You just called it a, "desperate move." This kind of speculation was clearly motivated by your priapism for Sony.

Just admit you weren't aware those are MS games and move along. That fact alone kills your argument.

Apparently you don't understand well enough if you read my full post.. Microsoft may own the IP's, but last time I checked they don't own Developers like Bungie. They may have owned them at one point in time but Bungie on October 5, 2007,  announced that it had split from Microsoft. Now read my first post again.

As they say you see what you want to see..

OH!!! I see, now this is just about Bungie. Right...

When you said, "sounds like a desperate move to keep those devs under their wing for next gen." You meant JUST Bungie. Right...

Clearly you didn't know all those games were MS IPs and now you're trying to twist this into some effort to get in the good graces of Bungie. As if that were necessary... but lets move on.

Personally, I think publishers will support any platform that can potentially sell a lot of software. For example, look at all the support Xbox 360 has compared to the original Xbox. Sony dropped the ball on PS3 and that also allowed the 360 to get a lot of support.

As I said before you lack the skill to comprehend what you read. Now you act surprised about it, and on top of that you speculate even more. Further more this argument seems to be about who gets the last word. Go ahead enjoy yourself.

of course.

And you know that, because............????

It is a shame that those that are supporting XBL since the beginning dont get any gift.

Because it says so right in the OP >_>

"Microsoft has announced a new offer for those signing up to Xbox Live for the first time, giving new users free games when they sign up."

They can give you something free, but that doesnt mean that you will be able to use it FOREVER.   PS+ gives you lots of free games, but if your subscription ends, you will no longer able to play them.

you have no possible reason to assume such a thing other than to be a nuisance to people in this thread.

EXACTLY! I should have just said this. Only a silly person would assume that the PS+ "free" would be used in conjunction with the term "free" by any normal company

You mean like free halo reach where you have to pay for xbox live every year if you want to keep playing it?

What if you simply make a second gold account on your Xbox ?

Problem is you cannot get the achievements on your first account and you better play Halo Reach a lot in those (at least) 6 months.

That second sentence is why that option is just  a no-go or me, I must have my achievements on my master account! Now for Reach this wouldn't be so much of a problem as I already have this game, but a game I haven't played before like Fable 3 are achievements I'd want to have on my own xbl account.

Suppose I'll just have to renew without getting extra treats.

There's a simple way of getting around that. Any game that is on your 360 can be played by any profile on that 360. About half a year ago MS gave me a free downloadable copy of Halo Reach and anyone on my 360 can play it in full without me even signing in.
