I could see The Last of Us and The Last guardian winning a few awards. Possibly Journey for "best downloadable" or something like that.

GTA V is supposedly coming out early 2013 (which I firmly believe it will). All of the titles you listed are coming out this year.

I think those titles are coming out this year.

Is it a bad thing to trust Naughty Dog? They did make Uncharted and the Jak & Daxter series, I can definitely count that The Last of Us is goty worthy! Although can't think of other Sony exclusives to compete though, kind of a stale year huh lol. So I suppose Halo 4 should win quite a few and Journey as best downloadable sounds likely, though the year has only just begun..

What makes any of us think future games will be great games? By looking at past track records of the studio and footage from the game one can make a pretty good assumption that the game might be good/bad.

Take Halo 4 for instance. I've hardly seen any footage of the game yet I just know it's going to be amazing because 1.) Most Halo game in my experience are awesome, 2.) 343 Industries looks to have a ton of talent, and 3.) The game is my type of game.
