People argue with things they don't like all the time. That's what makes it an argument. Otherwise it would be more of a debate and that's not interesting. I never pretended. In fact I used the word potential because that's how much faith I have in the tablet at the same time not assuming anything too rash.
You're throwing out numbers. Fine but we will see in the future won't we. And you they way you are predicting the sales doesn't even make sense anyways. 20m for being ninty and another 20 for being the Wii SUCCESSOR (not predecessor). They both mean the same thing and you're pulling the numbers from nowhere land. Of course you are entitled to your opinion so like I said we will see.
I hope you know who controls the living room right now, that'll be a huge deciding factor on where the casuals go. Just saying...

I think a debate is more interesting and constructive than argument, but they are relatively the same thing.
My numbers of 20m come from the GC sales. I beleive the GC primarily sold on the fact it was a nintendo product and was supported by their fans. Very rough estimate I know.
The next 20m has nothing to do with nintendo fans but a part of the market that goes to what ever is popular. Last gen it was the Wii so that will carry over for a while. The number is very rough estimate.
Your last point is trying to say the parents control the living room, but parents try to not buy the wrong present for their kids. As long as the difference on their wallet is not too great. I think MSand hopefully sony will release with a fairly casual friendly price.
This thread was about ninty having next gen locked up. Why I think it's definitely possible for them to win, I think its ignorant to assume they already do. It's the same behavior a lot of Sony fans had going into this generation. We have yet to see what MS and Sony will do.

you make some valid points. I suppose they do not have next gen locked up, however releasing a year early (rough estimate) is a huge advantage.
Now as for prices, I predict Sony will definitely take a different route than what they took with the PS3. And not assuming that people will want to get two jobs to buy the PS4 and launch with a casual friendly price. They were way too cocky. As for M$, they are definitely gaining steam. I never really noticed it until now but the PS brand isn't what it once was back in the PS2 days. The Xbox brand is taking over so its between them and Nintendo. But the Nextbox will be priced heavily. I have a feeling they will make that mistake, that's just me though. In fact I believe:
Wii U - $299 - $349 (But most likely $299)
Nextbox - $399 or higher
PS4 ~ $349 and up but not higher than $400
