I would like to say that this single-player release is worse than a half dozen MMOs I have seen. That is just how incompetent those fuckers are. I hope someone ends up without a job, someone high up, whoever had the absolutely fucking moronic idea of having to sign in to play single-player. They don't deserve my money.

Edit: I am taking bets on whether the pirates will get the superior versoin of the game out before Blizzard gets their shit together or not.

Apparently it has already been cracked

Oh that's great news. Here i am killing the boss, guy is at 15%, then the server crashes. You can always count on pirates to fix the game properly.

Oh My god, D3 servers are down, my life isn't worth living...
You guys need to chill out and do something else. It's not the end of the world !

It's not about the servers being down, that makes sense. It's about the absolutely shit game design of having to be connected to a server in the first place.

The auction house is malfunctioning, can't buy anything, just get "request timeout" every time...

I just got to say, i'm very impressed by the CGI cutscenes, but then again Blizzard were always experts at those. The end ACT I cutscene is nothing short of epic (in terms of story implications).

Also, Witch Doctor is a beast of a character, period.

The auction house was telling me that the buyout failed so I tried to buy other things, turns out I bought six items and spent over 30.000 gold... Needlessly. DAMMIT! That is truly annoying, amassing money takes a little while, after all.

I thought the auction house wasn't supposed to be functional until next week or something? Or am I mistaking that with a different money trading system in the game?

Aside from the servers being shit, how does everyone enjoy the game so far? Has anyone played enough to give a good opinion? I'm really on the fence with this game.

I'm finding it enjoyable atm , to me it's not the great hack and slash game many including me where expecting  but still  good , I can't help feel that it is the Diablo name and lore that makes it resonate (despite all the streamlining , questionable art direction etc. that tries to bring it down )  because at the end of the day it's that history and lore that separates it from it's competitors , has I have said even though I don't like the direction Diablo 3 has taken it's still a diablo game so worth it for that alone , which is a pity because it should have been well worth it even without the Diablo name to fall back on .

One side note: I remember the art in the D2 manual had a truly fantastic looking barbarian , but this time we end up getting his great grandad.

The auction house with real money will only be up starting day 23, but the ingame currency auction house is already up. I've got a couple of bids up too.

I'm enjoying the game a lot, both story wise and gameplay wise. While it does have it's shortcomings (mainly the lack of customization of your character), it opens up a much more fluid gameplay style which has also it's nuances and trick with different skills&runes combos for each situation. I think it's too early to tell the full scale (i'm still only starting act II) and will probably feel a much larger impact of the gameplay on higher difficulties (nightmare and forth).

As for the artstyle complaints, while it is indeed of a lighter mood (a bit more cartoonish), the dark atmosphere and oppressive and grim feel are there on the right moments. On the Halls of Agony dungeons I got the same feeling as I did going through Floor 3 of the original Diablo, and that was something that D2 didn't do.

Auction house is up and running, its just not working...

Got kicked out of my own single player game again due to full servers, that's a hoot. I think I'm going to start a thread with some early impressions tomorrow, there you'll be able to see what I think at least.
