No I haven't is it worth checking out? Sounds like the awesome kind of threads we used to have though I think I'm gonna go check it out right now.

I've been away from the site for a few months now so I've missed any of the juicy / good threads that have been made.

Not as awesome as the old days, but still funny seeing the topic.  http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=140560&page=1

Lol, I saw many people predicting the 3DS to do 300 million lifetime last year.

Ah my friend John Lucas.... He's still around. He's a regular columnist for Popzara Press (popzara.com) now. That's right, he's actually making money off of his posting abilities now. Maybe.

John loved to stir up the fan boys and see their reactions. I was one of the few who backed him claim of 20m Wiis by Dec 31st 2007 and we were right. I think I backed this one too. (blush) but beyond that, JL claims became simply nonsensical calling for numbers that conservative and independent Nintendo simply could never produce. So From 2008 on I was openly challenging him but still making much higher (and generally more accurate) predictions than most on this forum.

Loved LeoJ and Crazzyman too. All ridiculous in there thinking. Completely blind fanboys who predicted PS3 could never fall (IE: It'd be as big or bigger than PS2) and Wii must.

Honestly, I think Wii would have maintained momentum except Nintendo shot themselves with the disaster of Wii Music and Animal Crossing as 2008's holiday games. If they had release Wii Sport Resort and made AC:CF more like farmville instead, they'd have continued to sell out. As it was, they lost people's imagination and never regained it. Kinect was the finally blow and Joe Q public became fascinated with that (although aside from dance games I still feel Wii is better in almost every way) and forgot Wii almost completely. Combined with soft 3rd party support who never figured out the Wii and it stalled and fell way short of it's potential.

Ah I remember that guy.

While I'll admit my predictions for the Wii were well wrong (I expected sales larger than the PS2 back then I think) there were not many who were as crazy with their predictions as him.

Well, you say that, but there were heaps. The Wii will end up nearabouts 120 million, a bit below but the roudning makes the maths much easier. So that makes his prediction as crazy as, in 2007, predicting that it would sell 60 million.

In November 2006 (nearly 2007), we see a company, that is paid thousands of dollars to do this stuff, predicting 23.5 million! Nearly three times as innacurate as John Lucas's post.

Sure, J L was wrong, but not by anywhere near enough to justify this.
