Moral of this thread:

Nintendo innovates, Sony copies...somehow some of you must always try to force that idea into everybody else's heads. This is just getting ridiculous.

If you say so

keep up the name calling man, thats what the ban function is for

When did he call you or anyone else a name? If you're talking about him using the word 'fanboy' then that's ridiculous, he wasn't even using it in a demeaning manner.

srry Mr. Pie. "once you say all you sony fanboys" it's implied Sony fans and mod action (if spotted by a mod) will likely happen regardless of how he meant to use it.

this is what he said

"The DS was the first to market Touch screens and it also had that all new clamshell design"

"the Wii was the first to market motion control"

in the broad sense of technology without using specific criteria to make it appear like if a certain company can be creditted with creating everything its clear thats nonsense

those three features were in use commonly before gaming and thats what this award is related to, gaming and technology beyond gaming

Regardless of the wording, my point remains valid.

Besides, I see no one here claiming that they created these technologies.

well if you are going to find the ds innovative because of clamshell design, touchscreens etc when there're already pdas, laptops etc alongside it that have had those same features before it, from my perspective you aren't going to have a point there, but thats me

I already stated that they were't the first to use them, and that they are innovations to the gaming industry. You're just arguing for the sake of arguing here

i guess i just found it confusing that you would quote me just to make a point unrelated to my own original point but whatever

That has to be the worst rule I've ever seen. Why do people take offence to that?

The Wii, DS, and the upcoming Wii U should all win the awards. The DS was the first to market Touch screens and it also had that all new clamshell design with two screens, the Wii was the first to market motion control and is the most succesful, the Wii U's controller conept is very intriguing and can be used in compliment with the games on the big screen.

PS2 did it before Wii. youtube it. and there were other products before PS2 that did motion controles. you're going to have to do better then that.

this stuff has all been repeated before.

i'm sure somebody did touch screen pads other then apple with analog included. don't make me research it. remote play can be done on PSP.

You missed the part where I said it was the most succesful.

Success does not contribute to a product's innovation.

Who's exactly is even claiming this? It was merely stated that Wii was the first to market motion controls to the general public and was the most successful at it. That (in his opinion) makes it deserving of an award, who are you to argue against someone's opinion?

Because the connotation behind 'fanboy' is an insulting one. If one intends to be respectful, then it would be sensible that they use the term 'fan' instead.

really? no i didn't? i wasn't supose to point that out. look at whats happend in this thread. near everyone including yourself picked a part the context of the article, but would this thread be this popular without all the added links to show what other products got the awards? or pointing out who did what first, although nothing either of them has done is truely that innovative?

look back and see some of the post where 1 person said "i just came in here to read an article slowly backs out" cause they knew this would happen, and they avoided it.

i didn't come in this thread to correct anyone. i just came in to see how funny it would be to see what i've seen for the past 2 yr.'s on this site, and have herad for the past 7, and beleive me, it wasn't surprsing or funny. it's just plan old, and i'm tiered of seeing it.

ok ok ok. sony copies.

but at least they make it better than the original.
