This is a question I've been wondering for awhile now. How was the Game Gear? I never played it before nor have I seen one in person. So I want to ask you guys who have played the Game Gear for your thoughts. Was it a great system or was it a bad one?

I loved it but I always wanted a Nomad.

From what I know, it had many good games.

it was bad, took 8 AA's and had horrid battery life. And a lot worse games than gameboy
Graphics were a lot more colorful, and better. And sound if I remember was better too.

But, I loved it. I was little but I don't really remember thinking any game was a classic on it. I probably liked power rangers the best. 

I still have it, and still play the 2 power rangers games.

I had like shaqfu, and rage. sonic 2, sonic adventures, sonic blast. And like 5 others, that I didn't really like.

Liked the Sonic games but I really enjoyed playing Mortal Kombat on my Game Gear. I would sit in my room jerking off to the blood splatters while my parents never suspected a thing.

Be nice to be able to get Game Gear games on the eshop too!

Finally!  Someone else who remembers the amazing Power Rangers games on Game Gear.  I can die happily now :)

Anyhow, I put 'good'--it had a lot of good games and the graphics were ahead of its time, but the battery life was AWFUL--six AA's would last you about four or five hours.

I'm going to wait for reviews on the Game Gear games before I try them out on the Virtual Console. The emulation is incredible and I think it's a great way for newcomers to experince an old system without actually having the system. Plus the games are as cheap as the Game Boy games which I think a long time ago they were more expensive.

The Game Gear was awesome. You just needed loads of batteries.

The Game Gear was basically just a severely gimped Genesis... if you had a Genesis, there was really no point in owning one, as most of the decent games on the handheld also had far superior version on the Genesis.
