... I don't get the logic. :(

PSP costs 80 pounds and have tons of great games below <10 pounds. If you want cheap handeld it's best choice.

Or you could get a DS.

And "enjoy" Nintendo prices on software...

I think DS and PSP have similar prices don't they, or are DS games priced higher? I know 1st party Nintendo games are always priced higher mind you.

Nevertheless, <10pounds per game is very attractive. I guess the PSP would still be attractive to Sony handheld customers then.

Look at amazon uk ;)  And also look how much of older DS catalague is even possible to buy compared to PSP games on PSN.

Pretty sure it was that interview, but it was said as a 5 to 10 year device... showing even Sony is not confident it will have really long legs.

Ajescent, I hope those words about typical Sony aren't yours. If so you need to rework your logic as someone suggested...I think they were referring to that statement. If products sell they have demand and no reason to discontinue. Sure there is a bottom line but the psp hasn't gone that low yet. Just look at Japan's figures. People will eventual start buying Vitas instead of PSPs but not all consumers see it as an either or situation and the limited to digital PSP titles doesn't encourage upgrading. Not everyone wants an old system, but it's kind of a golden era for the bargain consumer or the backlogs we haven't tackled. Game collection is why ps2 is still relevant but Xbox and now even Gamecube are pulled from stores like Gamestop, there are just so many games available that consoles still sell.

It won't be long though.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Yup, you're right. PSP games are cheaper on amazon.uk. Nintendo has lots of 1st party games listed, and those really raise the mean by alot (they're 25-30 pounds each). Big games like crisis core are 13 pounds.

A successful console/handheld usually last 10 years anyway.

Eh, don't think so. We'll have to see how fast the other competitors(besides 3DS, assuming that 3DS will outsell the Vita in the long run) like iPhones will compare with the Vita in the future. The iPhones/Pads all come out with something newer. .and I don't think the Vita can last a whopping 10 years without any adjustments with just software alone. If Nintendo keeps putting Pkmn on the DS, the DS might reach 10 years. So sadly, 'cause the psp doesn't have good enough IPs to keep it running, I can't see how the Vita might do.

We'll see.
