Forums - General - Topless avatars too much?

Do you think the topless avatars are too much?

A good fix would be to flag a persons avatar so it won't load while you are logged into your account. Other people can see it, but if you chose to flag it then you won't see it.

Or possibly when you upload an avatar you have to state if it is a little risque. So if a person updates their profile to not display risque avatars, then they will not appear while you browse the site.

I'm not sure how hard these methods would be to implement, but I think the first method would be the best for the user, and it has a good middle ground.

Well, my avatar's purpose is not to be attractive to be honest. Do you find her attractive?

For a very feminine looking anime thing, sure. Anime, cartoons are not my thing. Whether they are suppossed to have a penis or not.

HFBoards shut this kind of thing down a couple years ago.

I thought it was stupid at first because i think forum moderation should be kept to a minimum but i actually appreciate it now. There are plenty of places to see naked/half naked women on the net (including my own page on vgchartz) i don't need to see it constantly when i'm reading threads.

Removing that kind of thing instantly gives a website an upgrade in class.

I'm not familiar with these boards but that thread was pretty epic.

Administrator replying to a question about man avatars:

"No to both.

If you have a problem with an avatar, report it.

If you have a problem finding nudity on the internet, call somebody."

lolol Kinda makes me sad ... our mods and administrators have long lost their sense of humor :/

I think its nice to see the topless men sometimes even the women are hot! but if it is ok to have women as avatars then it should be ok to have topples men as well.

Kangi's sig is brilliant.

I'd probably sitting in the corner of allowing "sexy" avatars, just not ones too ott. Sometimes its silly browsing a videogame website where down the left of your page is a constant line of half (or fully) naked men and women. Sure, they're nice to look at but this is a videogame website...

NintendoPie's avatar would be acceptable, something like SqueakySamurai's is arguably NSFW.
