Forums - General Discussion - Topless avatars too much?

Do you think the topless avatars are too much?

Yes 145 40.50%

No 213 59.50%

IMO Anything that is suitable for public should be permitted, which I would say allows topless males in avatars but not topless females.

I agree i don't see the point in these topless avatars, at least if you are let it be a pic of you or a video game character. Don't steal pics from porn sites to represent how cool you think other people will perceive you.

No problem with it here. And I don't get all of these people that are scared or embarrassed of other people looking at their computer screens and seeing any of this.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

I never said I think people should post pictures of themselves, in fact I even said I don't even expect people to post cartoons of themselves. All I said is that I think the pictures should represent yourself instead of display a chick you think is hot. Make the hot girl your screen saver or wallpaper and pic something for your avatar that represents your personality. That was my point.

I love women and part of my personality includes the external appreciation of the female body. Therefore, I choose to upload avatars of beautiful women that are on-ground with this website's rules and that also express my appreciation properly. The same can be said about most of the other users posting avatars of hot men/women. What's your point?

I'm with not allowing it. While I don't care if any of my mates see the avatars I don't really consider some of them safe for work. This website should be safe for work.

This is what gets me.
This is a gaming forum/website. Most of the games that allot of people play here are of a mature and violent nature... Where you Stab/dismember/blow up people/animals and creatures.

Yet some people are stressing over a little bit of skin, time to get some priorities right if you fall into that group I think.

Personally. I don't care either way and I don't care if friends see a shirtless guy on my screen at work or at home. They can deal and get over it.

but nobody has to to know how i look not even as comic character so what shall i do then? just using none avatar? i think if everyone who doesn't like to let people know how he looks would stop using other pictures 90% would have th same picture, the standard picture <--- bad and boring idea

the only reason i know your avatar is representing yourself is because you said it now. so for me your picture was the same as someone with a bart simpson pic or so, just a comic pic of an imaginary person.

and if i don't post a pic/comic of myself what can represent myself instead of that?

You're Darwin/Monkey seems to be doing the job.

I completely agree.  It does look bad, I always have to be by myself when I come to this site because of it.  It makes this site look very unreputable too, and I find it a disgrace that the moderators don't do anything about it.

Users have every right to choose an avatar that suits them as long as it fits the VGC requirements, I'm definitely not here to argue that.

All I'll say is that gamrConnect is one of the few regular sites I visit where I think twice about browsing whenever I'm in a public area (such as in my school library or a bookstore). I understand what this site is and how people's avatars play out in the scheme of things (aka it's really not that big of a deal), but others who see these avatars out of context don't have that luxury... and it can lead to some awkward moments.

So much this, and yeah I've gotten "looks" from people while browsing this site before XD

Lol, I couldn't care less about what avatars people use. Like Millenium said: As long as they're SFW it's cool.
