I'm not interstellar in it, becuase I don't want to see my favorite ponies beating each other up.
Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.
Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

I wouldn't see the issue, unless they do fatalities or put some sort of damage modeling in. From the perspective of violence, i expect it to be no worse than Smash Bros. It's what Soleron said, about it being technical, that would put me right off of it.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

What do you mean too hard? Everything seems pretty easy, it's like Marvel vs Capcom/Blazeblu but easier. Did you use a controller to play? I think the game is great.
Here's the move list in case you were wondering how to pull specials off:

Yes. Easy if you've played EVO-standard, competitive fighters. I've never played one so I assumed it would be in the region of the Major League Gaming fighter, Smash Bros Melee.
I cannot do any of those moves involving more than a button plus direction, I simply do not have the reaction time. (I play Starcraft II at a mid level and this is far harder). (edit: It demands more buttons than are really necessary, quarter circles for regular attacks and more than half circles for specials) I mean, four buttons for a simple attack and six for a special.
I'm so angry at the devs (edit: I think the devs are mistaken) for excluding a whole potential audience simply to satisfy their own wish for a hard fighter like they've been playing for ten years, and not making it clear it would (edit: require days of training) be impossible. This was the only game I was looking forward to this year.

Ah now I see what you mean, my bro's just like that. If you never played stuff like Street Fighter II as a kid it'll take quite a while to adapt to FiM. I agree with you, they should have had a special button like in Smash Bros where you can preform different specials depending on the direction you push with the button. None of this quarter/half circle input nonsense because this is the very reason why fighting games are becoming so niche. If I knew how to I would make a Pony Smash Bros clone.

Hey everypony ^O^
I'm a new brony (as in within the last week) thanks to Radishhead and he suggested this thread to me as he saw I was getting really into it.
I am currently on on series 2 episode 7 and have listened to a lot of fan music as well haha.
I haven't gotten round to reading all this thread yet (you guys are so active :G) but I plan to tomorrow.
Anyway, nice to meet you all, hopefully I'll get to know you all a lot better over the next month or so ^-^

Try watching this episode, and don't do anything else while you do. It's 22 minutes long, so it won't be too much time out of your day if you end up hating it. I'm sure other people would recommend different episodes, but I think this one is a pretty good starting point. |
I'm about to watch the episode you linked and give it my undivided attention...

My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)
PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)
Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right

Hi and welcome!
Non-pony track from a pony musician. His usual electropop style.

I agree with Soleron: anything with multiple arrows like that is utterly incomprehensible to me. There is a good reason that Smash Bros and Smash Bros clones are the only fighting games I own, all of this multiple direction presses stuff i don't know how to begin to approach.
