Well, out of a ten year lifetime, within a year is pretty soon :D

about monster hunter, eh, I'm not concerned. Capcom said they went multiplat, not, "we are switching from one console to another"

You should be running in a circle and panicking though. Why are Capcom and Sony holding the announcement back? Do they want to see current PSV sales suffering?

why would I do that?

It's obviously going to have it. I don't know what deals were done, and I'm not going to be the guy that screams money-hat. It's obviously coming to psv, it doesn't make a lie of sense for capcom to go exclusively 3ds when mh 3ds has just not reached the sales of the very first psp mh.

Well, I also believe that's true, that it will come to vita, even though it'll still sell more on 3ds.

But:

3g is not an original game, like the first PSP game.

It's still selling quite well

It already sold more, japan only, and it will sell better in the west than probably all PSP games.

I doubt that, but it's possible. MH is not a game enjoyed by the west due to its difficulty and complexity.

It didn't make any sense either why JRPGs were put exclusively on the Xbox 360. Of course, they eventually came to the PS3, because the 360 couldn't move enough copies.

But Monster Hunter Tri G has already matched the global sales of the first PSP Monster Hunter and therefore exceeded its Japanese sales. And Tri G is obviously not done yet as it still sells around 10k copies every week. Take a look, Tri G has the potential to also beat MHF2. That's not too shabby for a game that isn't new. Also, about a 25 % attach rate in Japan right now (3DS recently passed 5m).

But what about capcom saying something like "our decision to go multiplat"? This isn't multiplat, right?

I will say that sales of tri are better than expected, and I think it's likely due to the 3d aspect of the game, since it's already on psp, and wii. It's hard to really make a good point without a new game on both systems, but i mean, freedom 3 is nearing 5 million in jp alone on psp. Nobody even knows why it hasn't been released in the states yet. MH is certainly a franchise that has been growing from entyr to entry, so beating older games in sales isn't necessarily impressive.

I personally think the 3d aspect of the game is pretty neat, though.

I hope it starts selling in the west too. Its a great game with a steep learning curve any sales for mh, no matter the consile is only going to give capcom a reason to make more and expand them.

PSP was even destroying DS in its 1st year on market...just putting it out there. And then what happened to DS? Where is now?

So you expect Nintendo to make games for the PSV? Sure, why not.

No, better. I expect Activision to make games for PSV. IW/Treyarch, to be more precise

Those games don't have the HD twin trends on the Vita, so what is your expectation?

Notice when the Cod PSP game came out and that it's pretty much a mediocre spin off? Cod has multiplied in popularity since then and could easily be a 5m seller on Vita if it's a good game.

A very good point, I gotta give that to you pezus (you are always on the ball, good stuff). Then, in that case, hopes cannot be too high as a "true" entry has yet to prove itself on a handheld (and on a Wii-line platform with full dual-analog support for that matter, and though that's a different story, it's similar risk assessment).

The thing is, now with the Vita, they could keep the PS3/360 version of a new CoD almost exactly intact. The graphics and the controls could be the same, maybe with some added touch functionality.

Granted, development is probably gonna be really cheap. But that still doesn't promise sales. COD is really peculiar in that sales only really started lifting off as of COD 4+ (Explosively). COD3 also had online mode. But its success is really peculiar and has alot to do with marketing and gang-mentality. "My friend has COD so I need to play it too". To expect that too work on PSVita without assurance is kinda off. There's a likelyhood, but it's still a very big and important unknown. We don't even know if shooters can have that kind of interest and success on a handheld yet.

First off, PSP's multiplayer abilities were poor at best. Not to mention it was almost impossible to play a propper FPS game on a PSP. Easy fluid controlls and multiplayer are 2 top reasons why COD is so popular. PSP lacks both. VITA lacks nether with upgraded multiplayer and both analog sticks

Second, even if we pretend that piracy on PSP wasnt insanely high due to CF, all those released COD titles were of medicore quality at best when compared of those like COD4 and BO or any other COD game

COD only started getting huge in 2009 with the release of MW2, (COD4 sales were excelent, but nothing to write home about) and that was after COD franchise and almost all other mainstream developers moved passed by PSP, as you can see from your own chart...All CODs that sold 10m+ were released in or after 2009

Wow, 3DS really was selling poorly before the price cut...

...I suppose the Vita is besting the 3DS in that regard ;)
