Yeah, the market is in decline. We have 6+ year old consoles on the market. What did you expect?
3DS is selling well and the Vita just came out. Wii U is coming later in the year. Things will get better.

I was going to make a sarcastic comment, but you were actually right.

MS has definitely done a good job of rising as opposed to falling. Gives me hope that the 360 will enjoy a PS2-esque life cycle.

But the oldest console of all is still having really good sales, that's their point.
Many investors are also worried that the next generation of home consoles won't be as successful as the current, thanks to shifting habits and market demands.

Dont' worry, they will be successful.

I don't get it either, they say this constantly, it's like the people that analyze the market just look at numbers and not context. Even with longer life cycles for consoles alone sales should naturally go down, but software sales is generally how you judge the market, not hardware.
On topic, I have to say this article would be better accepted if it was written about the US market and not how the XBOX was destroying the competition. Same facts, but it tries to paint a pretty misleading picture with the way it's contructed.

No, investors. Nintendo's shares are 1/8th of what they were in 2007. EA, Ubisoft, and Activision are all way below their peaks, too.
Sony would've loved to be in Xbox's position from the start anyway....
Not a rude comment but its true
Yay!!!
