I don't get it either, they say this constantly, it's like the people that analyze the market just look at numbers and not context. Even with longer life cycles for consoles alone sales should naturally go down, but software sales is generally how you judge the market, not hardware.
On topic, I have to say this article would be better accepted if it was written about the US market and not how the XBOX was destroying the competition. Same facts, but it tries to paint a pretty misleading picture with the way it's contructed.
