So it's 'new iPad'. No number. What about when a newer model comes out? Will that be the 'newer iPad'? Will this 'new iPad' become 'old iPad'? It's sort of confusingly weird.

That screen is going to look gorgeous! It's definitely the biggest improvement. No other tablet even comes close to that. It blows away even 1080p screens. 1080P is 2 megapixels and this screen will be 3.1 megapixels! |
I know that's a huge improvment, but I never looked at my Ipad and though... gee, it surely could have more resolution
I miss design and non-numerical changes. It's the same interface since 2006... that's what bugs me most! Windows 7 is already fantastic (I also have a HTC Titan) and 8 is looking even better interface-wise, and IOS is the same for another year.
Should be iPad 2S

My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)
PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)
Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right
So, time for finding names for it... the newPad maybe? iPad 3 (just throwing this one out there)?
But anyway, it's an impressive upgrade to the screen, though it's still not something I'm going to buy.

It hasn't changed? http://www.theverge.com/2011/12/13/2612736/ios-history-iphone-ipad
Windows still has the same basic design since what Windows 95? Small slight differences, but still it's pretty much the same which is why it's easy for users who've used previous versions to jump right in. Windows 7 is nice, but I would've been happy still running WinXP myself. I actually didn't want to move over to XP from Win2K way back and it was a long time before I did.
I thought the same thing as well when I used my ipod touch 3rd gen. (same screen as the iphone 3g/3gs) and then I got my iphone 4 (first retina display) and I was blown away by how good the screen looked. Now when I look at my gf's ipod touch (same 3rd gen. model) it looks...wow 0_0 I thought my old iPad 1 screen looked pretty good as well, but I'll most likely be blown away again once I get my hands on the new iPad.

By "Windows 7" VicViper actually means "Windows Phone 7", unless that HTC Titan name dropping isn't supposed to make sense.
It's just called 'the new iPad'?
That's going to get confusing for me and I'm a tech guy. The average consumer will have no idea whats going on.

I'm convinced the real secret sauce is in the battery. The iPad 3 is 7% thicker than the 2, and and 8% heavier.
The battery packs 70% more power in order to achieve the same battery life. That's how much juice it takes to power all those pixels and an LTE radio.

I take back what I said about Infinity Blade. Seems it's different gameplay even though it's the same IP:

I just got my pre-order in for a 64GB black Wifi iPad!
The price for the new iPad actually went down a bit here in Japan compared to the iPad 2. (down 2,000, yen ~$24) I've been missing my iPad 1 since I sold it last month, so I'm glad I only have to wait another week to get my new one.
