imo the people there are magical...
Yeah its quite funny they made laws to protect the local languages and now English is likley the 2nd biggest language in the Country and the numbers of speakers is growing rapdily.
Almost every single educated Indian knows basic English.
It depends, if me and my parents were in India we would be upper middle class family, I likley could have just chilled out and done nothing after University and just inherit the land. Very lazy and such, so glad my parents moved to Canada and we have a good life here.
Lol I base this off my cousins who live there now.
They go to Uni, goof off, get drunk and chase girls all day and the reason why is the lands there forefathers bought for nothing are now super expensive.
One big thing is if your middle class and have money your wealth is somewhat real and not inflated based off borrowing so much debt as it here in the West. Most people still buy things in full.
Its really hard for someone from the West to go and judge life there. Everytime I go there, I am like "everything is so cheap".
Of course to me blowing off a thousand rupees is nothing as it is only 20 dollars but in India it is a lot of money to the average person.
Easily someone from the West can come to India and live a comfortable life however the society around you is totally screwed up.
Lol not all Indians eat with their hands.
It all depends...
In certain areas British/Western culture had a bigger impact.
In certain parts of India, even back in the days (50+ years back) people ate with spoons and dressed up in dress shirts and coats for any event. Always had tea when guests come over and have tea in the afternoon.
I think in Northern India people do not eat with their hands, but in Southern Indian they do.
I remember I made a joke about a younger cousin who like eating with her hands "Stop eating like a South Indian!"

You can't even begin to compare poverty levels and living conditions of the lower class. It's true that the poverty in India is worst than in America, But you can't speak for the homless here either. how do you know that they (Indian & American) lower class don't have any similarities in the way they percieve their existance? surely you don't think that a lower class person in India has it worse than any homless person in the states. Cause then you would be saying that there is no way that one is more miserable or unhappy than the other. there is just no way for you to speak on behalf of them unless you in fact have been in their shoes. I personally know someone who has been down that road, and that person has had a REALLY hard life I won't say what he went thru out of respect but trust me anyone in America can have it just as bad or even worse than someone in India, Vice Versa. |
That's not true at all though. Homeless people in the States still have better living conditions than those in India as well as the US's numerous programs to support them through food stamps, welfare, shelters, etc. India doesn't have the same amount of government programs to assist that, it has nothing to do with how happy a person is or their thoughts and feelings.
I know two things about India. They do not have toilet paper so instead they wipe with their left hands and they still have the Plague.
I know this is slightly off topic but damn bollywood is pretty darn advanced now based on this video:

The action in some of the movies is pretty solid but those movies then lack a good storyline.
- Friendly people (most of the people I have met from India have been)
- Overcrowded
- Good Food
- Intriguing culture
- High poverty/Economic disparity
Probably a fairly stereotypical view, although I am aware of many other things about India those are the first thoughts that come to mind.
