anyways...i sense some sexually repressed people in this thread....maybe one day they will accept themselves and their "immoral" impulses. then they can stop hating themselves and taking it out on others.

That is where I disagree with you. I believe sexuality can be influenced though. I don't believe it is in your DNA or anything, but rather events in your life that kead you to believe the things you believe. No religious angle and no political angle should be viewed in schools. We need to stop labeling people and treat everyone equally because honestly, I don't care what your beliefs are, what your sexuality is, or any of that nonsense and I believe the world would be a better place if others thought that way too. No one should force their beliefs on anyone.

I think a pretty big part of not forcing your beliefs on other people is allowing other people to discuss their own beliefs.

Oh, and the idea of a central government enforcing a religious idea (which is what you seem to be advocating when you say that marriage is the realm of religion) is one of the worst examples imaginable of what you claim to be opposed to.

Remember, it's still called forcing beliefs on others if you're the one doing the forcing.

A more general warning: this sort of discussion is fine, but any comments describing homosexuality as a disorder or homosexuals as somehow undesirable are not acceptable and will result in moderation.

I don't see how it is a disorder. Enlighten me

I would try to explain it to you, but Iwould get banned in a second by Machina if I

Alright, PM me?

I wouldn't bother if I were him.

Explaining your opinion makes you less likely to get banned, not more.

hmmm

A more general warning: this sort of discussion is fine, but any comments against homosexuality are not acceptable and will result in moderation, only positive words about homosexuality are tolerated because we are a very open minded and tolerant community, so we accept all view points...

except for those we disagree with.

@Kantor
School systems are not the place for pushing those beliefs or any belief imo. I understand and agree with Pezus over health education though.

Yes. Why should gays be treated specially? Where are my"straight parades"? Where is my straight community? What about my straight rights? What makes them different from me? Nothing! They shouldn't be treated differently from me because they feel "threatened" and because they are a minority. If anything, the majority should be the one to push others around,which i disagree with, but minorities ave no right to spread their agenda to people who don't care. Sorry if you disagree with me because at the end of the day, I fail to see how the three beliefs I mentioned are incomparable.

You mean like the way Black people used to be treated in the US, for example, just because they weren't white? (and I know, some would argue that it's still bad, but from my experience, at least in Europe,it's a 1000 time better now). I know this is your opinion and I'm supposed to respect it, so all I will say is, trust me, you wouldn't wanna be in my shoes. An attitude like this makes more harm than you'll probably ever imagine.

I really hope the homosexual community can find the happily ever after they look for. They've worked hard to get marriage rights and this is just a scary direction for them.
