What old one? The DSi? DS Lite?
The DS Lite had the glossy plastic on it. Was the DSi one matte? I know some DSi's were glossy (like the Red one), my SaGa DSi was matte besides the logo.(http://tinyurl.com/lkrvcm ) I'm not sure about the Cobalt Blue Dsi though.
The matte feels nice, but I do like the look of the glossy 3DS'.

jesus with these 3DS editions, and almost all of them are great

Yes, those are nice looking designs. I put in 3 entries, but I didn't win apparently. I just did a quick check at some auctions and the peach one is selling for 30k-40k yen. The other 2 are in the 40k to over 50k yen range. Expensive as they are very, very limited!
