I've had time to digest it, and, even factoring in the ending, this is still the best BioWare game that I've played, full-stop. Granted that jsut means that it beats out KotOR, but that's still saying a lot.

"Note to self, buy Khuutra a copy of Baldur's Gate II for this year's Secret Santa."

In all seriousness, it is the best of the trilogy, even including the ending. It's just unfortunate that the ending sucks out much of my desire to replay the single-player. Knowing the destination makes the journey feel rather pointless for me. On the flipside, it feels like the team learned quite a bit over the course of the trilogy, so with luck the next game should be simply stellar.

Also in all seriousness, play Baldur's Gate II. There's a reason the internet still raves about it over a decade later.

You're the fourth person this week to bark up this particular tree. As I told the other three: I'll get to it. I'll buy it, crank down the difficulty, and experience it just for the story soonish.

Uh-huh. Remind me, what'd you think of Planescape's second hour?

It reminded me a lot of playing the Witcher games, because I'm pretty sure that's what I did

I eagerly await your future purchase of BGII, proceeded by the marathon South Park: The Game session.

What, you expect me to put aside a game written by Stone and Parker? Pfffffft.

But yes, BG and BG2 have to wait for Planescape, on that same note. And Planescape has to wait on me getting sick of ME3, which is going to take a while.

As to your lack of will for a replay: I had much the same, but after sitting on it for a few days and playing some of the multiplayer I booted up my Renegade runthrough and got started. It's interesting how the tone is different, even at the very start, but it illustrates how much more I could change things if I wasn't trying to get constantly optimized solutions throughout ME1 and ME2. I think I need to make a Shepard who has a lot of companions die so I can see the stand-ins, and how those deaths affect galactic politics.

There's so much to see and do, here.

I assume you bought the 360 version, correct? If you have the PC version, there's this great time-saving website where you can just download completed playthroughs of previous titles, with most of the major combination of choices already made. It saved me a lot of time on my ME2 runs to have someone have decided to kill the Council, but not Wrex, for me, etc. Considering the permutations made up to this point, I don't think anyone but the most devout wil be able to see everything in ME3 without resorting to this method. Although from what I've heard, most of the differences are pretty cosmetic, unfortunately.

And strangely, I think I'm going to buy South Park myself. I'm not a fan of the show, but I am a big Obsidian whore, and this may end up being their last title ( )so...

Gibbed's save file editor works for 360 files too, though the file conversion seems to cause some mild data corruption in some spots so you mgiht have to reset certain flags. Still, I enjoy all the games in the series, so I should be able to play through each of them at least a couple of more times apiece. More than that for ME3, obviously.

From what I've seen, most of the changes aren't really cosmetic. If Mordin dies in ME2, the guy who stands in for him in ME3 isn't much like him at all. He's.... really enthusiastic about krogan breeding, though.

I assume you own the game on PC yourself, then?

Yes'ir! I considered...adding...the already-on-disc Prothean to my team, even without playing through his DLC mission, but ultimately refrained. I wonder if I missed anything big? Zaaed and Kasumi weren't exactly Earth-shaking in ME2, but then again neither one would play as big a role in the lore.
