Prelaunch or not the 3ds still manages to outsell the Vita. And personally the first 2 days should be the most front loaded. I expected at least 100k from the vita.

So without eu and only prelaunch numbers it should beat 3ds, and be above 100k. interesting I'm going to quote you and laugh next week when it cracks 100k in the us alone .

But this week PSVita sale include 3 day and the next week 7 day when they combine the sale they will be more then a week.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Come on man its a 350$ handheld bundle with not that much extra value and on top of that its the 3G version with crappy at&t , don't be so negative.

No, that's not how this bundle is working. Basically, if you bought the bundle (one of the 75k or so people according to the numbers), you got the Vita on Wednesday for that ONE DAY for FIRST EDITION BUNDLES ONLY. The Vita itself did not go on sale until 2 days ago and will be reflected in next week's numbers (for week ending Feb 25).

So, next week's number's will have the launch Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. That is all. Now, there may be some retailers that broke street date, whatever, but that happens all the time. Point is, next week will not have 7 days of salaes. THE VITA WENT ON SALE IN N.A. ON FEB 22.

Thank you for explication

Thats a pretty low debut.

Its certainly evident now that this release was completely invisible to many people. What is leoj talking about btw? What day did Vita actually release?

That is because these are pre-launch sales (first edition bundle). The Vita released 2 days ago. Also I think those numbers are decent considering it's a $350 bundle where the only real perk is that you get it one week early. It's only for the US too. Regardless, they still have a tough road ahead. I hope Sony can pull through with this; it really is an amazing handheld.

That still makes zero sense to me. So are we meant to add this week and next week in order to see Vita's first week sales?

It's a $350 bundle for the 3G version which not as much people in the US want or need. Basically, the purpose of prelaunch bundles was to help sell the 3G version and ease the flow of hardware on launch day. Yes, both weeks should count for Vita's first week sales. They're only one week apart in the first place.

only one week apart? Should both weeks count as everything's first week sales. I mean I personally think 75k is great for the expencive bundle, but you cant be combining weeks. It makes no sense.

What I meant was since it's a prelaunch week AND only one week from its actual release, it's fair to count them both. If there was no prelaunch week, wouldn't those same 75k people gotten their Vitas on launch day? If they wanted it so badly that they paid extra to get it one week early, I think they have more than enough reason to get one on the day it came out for everyone if there was no pre launch bundle. If it was let's say, a bundle where you get it one month in advance, then maybe the sales shouldn't be added together.

Prelaunch is a marketing thing. The system launched this past week. And the cheaper skus are coming out a week later. Those people who bought the vita "a week early" are still running around with it and playing it and hyping it to their friends, many of whom will be getting the vita now at "official" launch instead of a week after.

Wow, and I thought that my 160.000 prediction was too low O.O

Wait a minute... This is the first edition bundle only, will this week or the next be used in the prediction thread?

Remember the Japan launch?

First week, 2 days: 370.000 (or something)

Second week, 7 days (duh): 74.000

However, this is still only the first edition bundle, like I said before, so you just expected a rise for the wrong reason.

There was hardly any marketing for the first edition bundle. Only people who follow games media or visit the playstation blog knew about this. I only started seeing actual marketing of the Vita about a few days prior to Feb 22. So your criteria for not counting the prelaunch week's with the official launch week's sales is that people were influencing others to buy it themselves? Isn't this the case with every launch? The fact is these people who bought their vitas early would have bought them on Feb 22 or during the week of launch instead if there was no pre-launch bundle.

Sony fans' confidence is quite low. What's with all the "but it's only 2 days of crappy bundle"?
Moving their own goal post instead of Nintendo's.
