You are officially on the verge of being out of your mind.
They just don't have the horses to do it.

These picks are looking pretty good (I was getting laughed at for picking the Reds 1st) except for the Pirates, but I'm pretty sure that they will plummet soon.

I'm not hating, but being honest.
Maybe they can make it with the ridiculous 2 wild card rule that I had completely forgotten about.

Nah, you guys are right. I just want to live in my delusion for a little while longer!
The starting pitching has been surprisingly strong so far, and we actually have a glut of starters for once, but the low K rate tells me the Coliseum is playing its part, and an offense based primarily on two hitters will likely sputter. On the flip side, our team BABIP is a joke, so regressing to the mean won't be all bad.
So how's the Phillies' fire sale going to work out? Personally I like the moves, but that's mostly because I thought they were too top-heavy with old players to last long-term.
Admittedly, I thought they'd have another good year before collapsing.

This is a good question. I honstly thought they would trade away another one of their aces and completely start from scratch next year. That doesn't look like the case now. You are right they are top heave with age, and the Howard-Utley-Rollins decade of domination in the infield is pretty much over. It would be very interesting to see what they do next year.

In fairness to the Mariners, the AL West is a surprisingly tough division at the moment. The Rangers have the best record in the ALl, and the A's and Angels are strong contenders for the two wild card spots. In that order!
Stupid Angels and Rangers buying everyone under the sun... >=(
I've always thought that becoming a knuckleballer could be a great way for an aging or failing pitcher to prolong his time in the MLB, albeit likely only in the bullpen. The fact that it doesn't happen often tells me that the conversion is probably a lot tougher than I imagine.
That said, I like seeing the knuckleball in action. It's both rare and different. So I'm definitely rooting for Dickey!
