The Cubs are now 3-10 Spurge. They look to be making a strong push for last place, but it's going to be tough with the Astros around.

Still very very early, but still, I see no hope for this team of getting any higher than 5th once again in the division, or even 6th. God knows they're trying, but they simply don't have the talent in their lineup to get it done. At this point I am actually sort of hoping they keep losing, so they can get the #1 draft pick, and make our future even brighter.

I think that losing badly for two years is actually the plan.

Woo Rookies on a roll baby!!! Better record than the Mariners!!

yu darvish was so good against the yankees ...
kuroda wasnt bad either but wasnt enough

jeter is on fire, I wonder for how long

Back at .500 baby! w00t! Cespedes is m'boy!

Woo Rockies can blast it at home in the thin air 18-9 over NY Mets. Only the beginning of a nine game home stand. Will not watch a single game, but wish them well and might watch in the summer if they keep up playing games like that.

Anyone see any hints as to why pujols is playing horrible?

He started off to a slow start last year too, so I wouldn't be too worried.  I think he is probably pressing this year because of the new team, and new contract.  Last year, I felt he was pressing because it was a contract year and he had so much protection in the lineup he felt he had to produce.  He was back to form in the second half of the season.

I am still expecting Pujols to be in decline from here on out though.  His best is very likely behind him.

Who would have thought a month ago that the Tampa Bay Devil Rays would be where they are now?

AMP....Are you a White Sox fan yet?  Lol!
Even with Boston laying waste to them they are above 500 so far. I have high hopes!

Is anyone really surprised that the 41 year old Thome is out with a back strain? Does not have much left in the pot. He should probably think about retiring in the next few years. Just my opinion on the matter.

Not in a million years.  Trust me, if it were only about how much the Cubs won I would have stopped being a fan of theirs when I was a little boy.

Tell me then. What is it that makes you a cubs fan? The history? The wait? Your Dad took you do cubs games all of the time as a kid?

I was raised as a Cubs fan so that definitely has a big part to do with it, but I have grown to love the team more and more as time has gone on.  I know that this might sound a bit sick, but the losing history definitely adds a mystique to it.  I don't believe in curses but man some strange things have happened with that team over the years.  From billy goats to black cats to beer on Leon Durham's glove to Steve Bartman.  The list goes on and on.

I guess that the Cubs are kind of a way for me to see that most of the time that life isn't perfect, but when things are good that they can be great.  It also helps you develop a strong sense of humor being a Cubs fan.

By the way, did you see what happened yesterday?  Carlos Marmol blew it yet again.  Word has it that the Cubbies are going to use another guy to close.  Who?  I dont know since we don't have anyone.

What baseball podcasts do you folks listen to? I've tried Baseball Today, but not being a Yankees/Red Sox/Phillies fan my needs aren't exactly catered to...

Dang, the Blue Jays have moved down to 2nd to last in the AL East.
