The site gives "Feb 2013" as the game's expected ship date, but that's a bit more nebulous in its reliability at this point. Still, add this listing with Sony Santa Monica's search for a Senior Staff Concept Artist and Timothy Williams' affirmation that he is indeed working on God of War 4's orchestral score, and we feel confident in saying -- yes -- there may be yet another game in a super popular franchise.

I'm pretty sure GoW4 will happen. Personnaly I'm against it, I think the way GoW3 ended was a perfect ending for Kratos and a sequell woul feel out of place.

IMO GoW4 should have a new main character. Someone new who is just as bad ass as Kratos, with a new backstory and new motives because to me GoW3 was the end of Kratos' story.

I think that In Norse mythology it doesnt exist a "GOD OF WAR".   Also it is quite obvious that if Kratos is not the protagonist, Deimos will be; and the game will show in the beginning either of them escaping from Hades.

That would be so awsome! We could face Thor, Odin and Tyr to cause ragnarok (or the other way around try to prevent it). Plus the Norse mythologie is filled with awsome monsters like Sea serpents and giant animals like Fenrir (giant wolf), that would be epic.

Or Egyptian mythology. Anubiss, Ra, Osiris, Isis and other creatures like the Sphynx :D

Also, its not only the fact that Kratos should or shouldnt be main character, personnaly I want something new, a breeze of fresh air. Plus all the important and interesting  greek gods are alrdy dead, Posseidon, Zeus, Ares, Hades, Hera...

i guess we can all agree that a GoW IV without Kratos would be the best thing Santa Monica could do!!!

Last year I entered a competition where the challenge was to write what the story could be for the next game, I was one of 3 winning contestants whose stories got sent directly to Stig Asmussen (And I'm told he liked my story! :D). I was told not to share anything about the story in case they actually use it, but rest assured if they go with it, it will be epic. Two small hints, it may not be a direct sequel to III and you won't play as Kratos or Deimos.

They could try a female hero (or antihero, if that's your angle).

God of War 4 is going to be awsome.  But for anyone who can't wait till feb 2013 they should pick up DARSIDERS II coming June 2012.   Darksiders II might  be better.  See link below

Why is a 3rd world retailer a good source!? Trust me, NOTHING here in SA is reliable. You wouldn't take this seriously if you lived here.

But let's say it's true, then;

a) It should feature some heavy PSVita/PS3 crossover gameplay. Something really feature rich.

or

b) Be a Ps4 title.
