1. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - I'm not generally a fan of media crossovers, but this is how you adapt a popular film franchise into a game. The Monster Hunter-esque flow of the game works really well, the base building is pretty addictive, and the story almost isn't convoluted as fuck. I'm especially impressed with the production value, and with how well the controls work given how stupid a single analog design is for modern games.

2. Valkyria Chronicles 2 - I can't really remember whether the general consensus was that this was better or worse than the original. I also don't really give a fuck. It's awesome.

3. Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble - Sort of like the poor man's Yakuza. Customize your teenaged hoodlum to your liking - clothes, hairstyle, and moveset - then go out and rape the faces of all the other hoodlums from across the Japan. Fun times.

4. Persona - Loved it on the PS1, and it still holds up incredibly well today. Actually, it may be my favorite of all the Persona games. It feels darker and more occult, and less... J-poppy. I dig that.

5. Ys 7 - I'd written off Ys as being doomed to remakes of remakes of remakes from here on out, so it was pretty shocking when they announced a BRAND NEW FUCKING GAME. Even if I prefer the classic style of the lone Adol hacking his way through hordes of enemies, Ys 7 represents a pretty deft modernization of the series with its party system and faster paced, more complex battles. And the soundtrack is totally up to the Ys standard, which is high as hell.


I'm actually considering buying Kenka Bancho for psv via psn. Would you recommend it ? how's the fight/brawl mechanics?

It would benefit a lot from a dual analog set up, I think, so hopefully it will work with the Vita's sticks. Other than that, it's not too bad for what it is. It can get repetitive, but it's reasonably challenging enough that it stays kind of engaging.

Plus it's fun to beat a boss and make him your lackey. Collect 'em all!

haha sounds fun then..and yea on vita you can map your controls for the psp so dual analog should be usable. Gonna get this then thanks

1. Dissidia: Final Fantasy: This game has taken over 200 hours of my life with it's addictive gameplay and the characters from the great Final Fantasies of the past.

2. The Legend of Heroes: Tears of Vermillion: This game was old school RPG fun. I enjoyed the story, gameplay and characters in an authentic 90's style role playing game. Took me about 50 hours to beat, unfortunately I haven't finished II or III and I had a couple hour start up lull.

3. Jeanne D'Arc: Much more of an RPG than strategy. Enjoyed the challenge and story of Level-5's first PSP game. The anime cut scenes were awesome, while the voice acting wasn't that great, but decent.

4. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII: Once you get through the constant viewing of the transition screen to the battle, this game was fast and fluid. While the summoning system sucked ass and was random. Crisis Core made some of the VII universe make sense.

5. God of War: Ghost of Sparta: What is there not to love about this game? The action was amazing, the storytelling was fantastic, graphically it was jaw dropping for a handheld and Kratos was fleshed out as a deeper character than some people would give him credit for.

PSP brought me my best portable gaming memories.

I even bought a 2nd PSP, the PSP Go. Tho Sony didnt support is as well so i kinda "supported" it myself and now it gives me every NES, SNES, PS1, PSP games I desire xD
