I have actually completed 13-2. It is not a good Jrpg in the slighest. It is so far behind Tales of Vespiera, Xenoblade and Star ocean that it's embarassing. It also doesn't even manage to be as good as Blue Dragon. The writing is an embarassment compared to Lost Odyssey. From this generation I would say it is hitting far closer to Enchanted arms levels. Although Enchanted arms somehow actually managed to have better characters and story (how in the world did that happen?!).
13-2 has some good aspects but they are totally outweighed by the writing, characters, baffling design decisions and incredibly small game (seriously there are so few original maps and they are repeated again and again with almost no changes.)

When we talk sales figures personal opinions don't matters its trends (which you didn't get when you compared Soul Calibur to FF in sales when replying to me on the last page).
Speakin of Enchanted Arms, incidentally I believe it has one of the best stories in a JRPG on consoles this generation, the voice acting brings the overall quality down but the story is far better than Lost ODdessy which had terrible writing (not sure what you found good) apart from the dreams which had very good writing. My whole problem with Lost Oddessy was how jarring the writing quality between the game and the dreams was. The less said of XIII-2's writing the better of course, but then again I find it not much worse than FF8, 10, 10-2's or 13's writing, they are equally terrible in my eyes.
