Forums - Nintendo - Rumor: Epic Mickey getting Wii U support

Gaming Everything

Usually reliable gaming investigator Superannuation has heard rumblings that Epic Mickey 2 may see some sort of Wii U support. It appears that there will either be a Wii U version of the title, or the Wii edition will make use of the Wii U’s tablet one way or another.

Superannuation tweeted today:

“Apparently Junction Point is ‘implementing Wii U support for Epic Mickey 2.’ Not sure if that means WiiU SKU or Wii version supports tablet.”

I’m not sure how the Wii U controller would work on Wii. A separate Wii U version makes much more sense in my opinion. Then again, it’s currently unclear if any part of this rumor is true. We’ll just have to wait and see!

Im kinda hoping the wiimote and nunchuck get bundled along with it so devs keep supporting it :/

Who wrote this? How stupid can people possibly be?

Some things do make me wonder.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

*Crosses fingers*

Even though nothing's been confirmed, it's pretty likely that Epic Mickey 2 is coming, and that it'll most likely come out for the Wii (and most likely the other two 7th-Gen home consoles as well).

Still, I'm definitely hoping that this rumor has some truth behind it. Either way I'll be inserting the Epic Mickey 2 disc into my brand new Wii U, but it'd be nice to see some of the features used.

If the multiplat rumor is true, they might cancel the Wii version and just have it PS360/WiiU, since those three are closer to each other.

I wonder if this means extra tablet functions for Wii games running on the WiiU, meaning no limiting hardware Wii mode.
But if it's going multi already, there's no need for this rumour, it'll be on WiiU too.

I would think that they would want to hit the 90 million plus wii owners with this game. Sevastopol made the mistake last year by not releasing Sonic Generations on the wii. Activision released spyro on the Wii and it has done grand! I hope this company is not that foolish.

Both HD versions are tracking better than Sonci Colors did, i dont know why people keep saying it was a mistake. I see at least one of those versions outselling Colors, and it hastn even had a price cut yet. Sega didnt want to make another version of Colors, that cost money. they would essentially have to make 3 different games for the price of one. I reckon the same thing could happpen with Epic Mickey 2, Instead of spending money to build a HD game form the ground up, they just make one game they could port between 3 consoles. Or they could have the Wii be the lead one and just HD the others
