I wonder if an exec at Sony is saying right now, "Vita is doing pretty good considering we don't have a killer Japanese app."

Then another exec chimes in, "We should release a Monster Hunter game during the holiday season."

Vita needs Monster Hunter.

Yes, terrible FOR A NINTENDO HANDHELD.

This is a Sony handheld.  Expectations aren't as high.

exepctations are lower than PSP sales?  thats where its at.

The PSV is like Move. Whatever amount it sells, it falls in line with Sony's expectations.

That's what is great of moving targets.

Sony already said MH for Vita is comming in next months.

Yeah, but that monster hunter it's a port of a port, so while it should have nice sales and boost a little Vita sales I really doubt it would be a system seller.

Yeah, it's certainly no Monster Hunter 4, which 3DS has coming (so far exclusively), along with a commanding lead and a cheaper price.

Clearly, the Vita has an uphill battle ahead of it...

I guess Vita needs some killer software in Japan... one like Monter Hunter like 3DS.

you just said it was fine....

PS. it also needs a price cut.

No. I said it's not bad like everyone want to be... it's like 3DS launch.

And yeah.. it needs a price cut.

(It is bad... but whatever)

Given that the price cut is not going to happen and there is no monster hunter or equivalent on the horizon....  whats are its Japanese prospects?

grim.

3DS sold 28.252 in the 8th week... Vita sales is not so bad.

correct...in a dead time of year and with total sales by that time of 900k... almost twice the Vita.  Those sales were seen as terrible leading to  aprice cut...

now the vita is doing even worse... so what does that mean to you?

While it may not make all the difference, the PSP launched at 19,800 Yen while the Vita launched at 24,980 Yen for the cheapest version.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

I wonder if the Vita can maintain the range of 15k to 20k in Japan until some blockbuster Japanese content starts hitting the system.

I believe if Square-Enix just announces a brand new Final Fantasy game for the Vita that would boost sales for the platform. Same thing for Capcom if they announce something with Monster Hunter in the title.

Damn only 8K for Wii, getting close to under 100k worldwide. Could be a long year if WiiU doesn't get released till November/December.

PS3 increase following Armored Core release, not bad at all.

Pretty sure thats going to happen eventually, I'm still surprised MH came to 360 and wow it actually got to the charts!

Would love to see a new Dissidia game *_*, too bad it wont be a fighter.

I know that it will happen eventually. But Square-Enix was very very late to the PSP party.

So they need to jump on board much quicker. Army Corps of Hell is a glimmer of hope in regards to maybe they have more games in the pipeline. It looks and feels like a launch title game and I hope they don't take forever to bring out more games that have much more polish.

Vita is doing fine for now, expecting a rise in sales in the coming months.

3DS dominating as usual

PS3 is doing fine as well.

Wii dying off, looks like all the news about the Wii-U finally put a end to the Wii's momentum.

PSP is doing good still, surprise, guess all those PSP rpgs coming out in the last 2 years is paying off.

Soul Calibur not bad I guess....not as much as a drop from FFXIII -> FFXIII-2.

Ragnarok Odyssey doing #4 is good news!

Lots of PS titles on the top 10.

Surprised that Xbox360 got Monster Hunter, when did that happen o.O

A while ago actual. The X360 got several and they all sold terribly, they only released them in Japan I think. Bad idea.

No as far as I know only one and the rest were seperate update versions or rereleases with some DLC.
