Forums - Microsoft - OXM: Project Gotham 5 Launching With Next Xbox

This would be pretty cool actually, the PGR franchise is pretty decent, and a race game on a next-gen console should look pretty pretty pretty!

Both PGR and Forza are exclusive franchises on Microsoft console systems and are good car game series. PGR is regularly compared and contrasted unfairly with stellar car racing franchises Forza exclusive to Microsoft and Gran Turismo exclusive to Sony. I personally like PGR more than the Forza series. PGR is more of an arcade style car series whereas Forza and Gran Turismo are car racing simulators.

Having motor bikes and the changing weather conditions were nice additions in PGR 4. PGR 4 is my favourite car racing game on the XBox 360.

PGR and PGR 2 on XBox. PGR 3 and PGR 4 on XBox 360. Bring on PGR 5 for the Next Box. True HD racing baby!

PGR 5 and around 30+ games are needed upon arrival of the Next Box to lure more early adopters to fork out a premium for the new system.

Farfetched in my opinion. With Bizarre Creations closed, whatever comes of this PGR5 is completely unpredictable at this point. It might very well be a very crappy game, or an even better one.

I always loved PGR the Kudos system was perfect for my racing style in games, and the cone challenges were so addictive. Wont buy Nextbox at launch but will pick it at some point and I am happy to see the series continue.

PGR > Forza, so I hope this is true.

When it comes to Racing :

PGR > RallySport >>> ALL

No one can touch Microsoft 1st party racing games. Too bad they dont make them anymore.

Do Turn 10 and Forza not count then?

Seeing as Activision shut Bizarre Creations down after Blur flopped, don't know if a new PGR would be as popular as the series used to be. Can't really see Turn 10 making a proper arcade racer, and they seem like the most likely developer.

If MS really wants PGR5 to be spectacular then they need to find as many ex BC devs as poss.

PGR 2 was a sick game. I remember playing this game way back in 2005, did not think I would have that much fun. This is good news if true.

I can remember beating the 1V1 races easily, on the highest setting (Platinum?). I would always demolish other car on the first turn, and slowly watch my lead decrease during the race. So much fun.
