PSV IS DOOMZ! Well, it's seriously not looking good ATM, I thought it'd do better TBH, not 3DS better, but better than it's currently doing. It has exceeded my "fail expectations" on all levels so far.

i personally think that all HH are doomed i never really get them even when i was younger i liked gaming at home on a big tv, but thats definitely not the case for alot of people

i think the vita gots potential though manly b/c it has 2 analogs and the touch pad in the back it just needs games that are unique and different from what we seen on the consoles and on the psp that can utilize these features

I think it will have a good launch but after a couple of weeks it will drop like it did in Japan. It will need some big titles announced at E3 that need to spark major interest otherwise this device might flounder for a while. I'll wait till E3 till I make a judgement.

People are acting so surprised that a Nintendo handheld is outselling a Sony one.

No, Vita isn't dead on arrival but it will have a rough start just like its had in Japan. Just like the 3DS did at launch.

Sony needs to start adversiting now. The 3DS is going to have a brand new color (Pink) release on Feb 10 and a lot of new games(Resident Evil, Tekken, Tales of the Abyss, and Metal Gear Solid) that appeal to many different type of gamers release throughout the same month. Plus a white 3DS(along with pink) to be released in Europe on the same day. That some competiton to face with.

41% say Vita is DOA. And people say this site is full of Sony fanboys

I only voted DOA because there wasn't an option for 'Slow and painful death.' I don't think it wil be DOA. I think SON¥ will drag it on for as long as they can.

It is certainly too early to say that, although i would say that the Vita needs something unlooked-for to be able to turn the tide. Something similar to the turning point that was Monster Hunter's appearance on PSP (which was a really unforeseen breakout hit at the time)

Something on a real "social phenomenon" level, in at least one of the markets.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Well, I do think it is having an identity issue, which is something that the 3DS also had when it first released (people just thought it was an new form of DS). If Sony can get the word out there that the Vita is much more than a PSP, it will certainly help its sales a lot.

You would have to be really living under a rock for not knowing the difference.....especially if you are a gamer o.o. I cant understand why anyone would be confused....just read the damn title/name on the system XD!

You mean the Vita and PSP? You'd be surprised. I know very few people who even know what Vita is, and even fewer who are interested in getting one.

Advertisement here is key. As has been said several times, sony is doing very little. And yet, the 3DS had an identity crisis and you couldn't watch a program without seeing an ad for the 3DS. Sony should take this into consideration and realise that people aren't going to buy a handheld to play a couple games which they could play (a similar copy of) on the PS3 or another console.

The easiest way to fix the problem is to either cut the price or get a huge exclusive (Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy etc.). Nintendo did both, and look how that ended up. Sadly, I don't think Sony can afford to and would be happy leaving it to simmer selling around 80k a week WW in a few months and break even.

Perhaps Dead on Arrival is the wrong term. Perhaps 'in serious trouble' would be how I would describe the scenario. Of course, only time will tell.

(One more thing: The PSPGo looked different to the PSP, perhaps moreso than the Vita, and had a radically different name, and did stuff differently. So it could be easy to conclude the same thing for the Vita for those not serious about gaming).

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

The problem with the PSP Go is that it was more expensive than the PSP 3000(which did pretty much everything the Go did), it only could download games(in which some games people wanted, such as Birth By Sleep, were not even available to download and weird enough is still not available to download), used a different memory stick format, and the buttons were out of place.

@Pezus Yeah, I wanted to pick "a slow and painful death until $ony decides to do a price cut, cancel the 3G Vita, and finally release(or fully annonce them instead of saying it will arrivel) killer apps", but I didn't see it there.
