Forums - Website Topics - I Demand a LIKE BUTTON! lets make it happen.

I'd say no for the forums but yes on walls.

The whole wall aspect, friend activity and "Home" thing is already like a mini social network site. Add the like buttons to that if they must be added, don't cram the forums with them though.

There will be more arguments caused too, especially when a comment like "lol, Wii is dying" gets 10 likes. People would piss and complain and the forums would go to shit.

No. We have the "+1" and "-1" on the news articles. It's good enough as it is. Last thing we need are people getting upset because someone keeps voting down their posts.

Who said anything about voting down?

*Like*

Sorry, i was thinking more youtube thumbs down than facebook like button.

At the same time, I don't see much of a purpose. This is a forum, you're supposed to voice your opinion regardless of how often it's already been voiced in the same thread, which in my opinion leads to better conversation than just hitting like for everything that a certain user posts. (That and we all know badgenome would end up with at least 100 likes per post.)

That is the best counter-point out there, wouldn't want to inflate his ego anymore than need be.

Vgchartz was great before badges and it will be better without a like button. The only thing it will accomplish is to create more conflict ("oh no someone disliked my post!!!") and clutter the forums more. We don't need a like button in every post because all it will do is make the site look even less legitimate and respectable. Stop while we still have some dignity.

It would intensify the fanboy wars in this site. I say no.

Yay!!!

I don't think so. Like someone already said, this is a forum meant for discussions. If you agree with a poster, then you can easily just post saying so while giving your own opinion. If you're too lazy to quote them or don't have a unique opinion, then you really don't have much to add to the discussion.

The only good which can come from having likes is the ego boost one gets when people agrees with their post (which, again, is already possible However, I think the negatives are too big too ignore. I can picture a scenario where a controversial post receives a lot of likes and causes addition and unnecessary... controversy.

We'll be better off just to keep them out.

could be cool i dont think it would be that big a deal.
