I really doubt a new model coming out at $120. Also not sure why people have the 3DS down and out in terms of sales, it's currently bending over the DS and having its way with it.

Pokemon has not been announced yet, Nintendo's casual titles are not here either (god know what they can think of), Super Smash will be huge

but it also depends largely, if Mario Bros. and Animal Crossing which are also huge will be released in 2012

if this year is the end of everything then yes it will be the peak year of 3DS

In fact Wii peaked in 2008, and DS peaked in 2007/08 with 2008 being better but for a "small" difference, witch means that 3DS should peak in 2013, also iwata said that 3yr of 3DS will be the decisive year of it, and that year will mark the future of that handheld. Like Game Boy Advance to GB I think 3ds will sell less lifetime than DS did anyway.
