Forums - Sony - New $299 Launch Bundle for PSVita

http://us.playstation.com/psvita/systems/psv-system-bundle.html

For a limited time at launch complete your portable gaming experience with the PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi Launch Bundle including an 8GB Memory Card, an AT&T DataConnect Session pass, and a PSN Game- a bonus $55 in value! Get it while supplies last!*

I just went from cancelling my PSVita order to jumping on the new launch bundle.

The unlisted game and data session aren't a big deal, but seeing as how new PSV owners have to buy a memory card anyway, and given the initial inflated prices (boo Sony) since they're currently only available from Sony, the 3G is essentially only an extra $20 with this bundle.

And no, I don't plan on doing an auto-renewal for the data plan either; I already have a 3G data plan from AT&T with the iPhone.

That sounds like a good deal for the Memory card lol

But the fact that the 3G aspect will be just there for nothing....it irks me :x

It's a $20 difference. Less if you feel the need to count the initial data voucher and PSN game. For that much, I don't even care if I never use it.

I still have the option of buying pre-paid cards or whatever they're doing in the future on the odd chance that there's some reason I feel the need for 3G connectivity. I don't see it happening now, but better to have and not need than not have and suddenly want.

Not bad, but something tells me they're just trying to get rid of 3G units.

Since they haven't sold a single unit in NA, that's a bit premature. That's pretty much suggesting that they'll stop making them shortly and that they'll shutter the service before it's even started.

It's entirely possible they came up with the offer based upon pre-order sales, which would be their primary gauge for measuring interest in the 3G feature/service. I can only assume it's low since SCE really hasn't done much of anything to convince most potential buyers why it's worth anything at all.

I dont know... The 8gb and the 55$ PSN game are tempting, but the AT&T data whatever is not. I might just get this one for the 8gb and 55$ PSN game.

No mention in the deal. "PSN game" which probably means a $10-20 title. No mention whether it's from a list of PSN titles or one chosen randomly by SCE.

Frankly, SCE has done such a *fantastic* job of spreading consumer awareness of the PSV platform, I don't even know what PSN titles will even be available during the launch window nor anything about the price ranges.

At any rate, I wouldn't buy this bundle for the free game. More like adding the 3G option for $20.

What about the memory card? Isn't that like $40 alone?
