Forums - Gaming - iPhone 4 vs. Playstation Vita Comparison

Oh god this is gonna get ugly.

But iPhone did not deserve to win games catagory.

'because the current gaming ecosystem on iOS far surpasses any other gaming machine, dedicated or not.'

That's such a lie

The whole service contract being included in the price of the iPhone hardware is fairly silly. That is the same as including the price of games and memory cards as the price of the Vita hardware.

There are many reasons why it is silly, starting with the fact that it is a monthly fee for a monthly service; that the user can cancel their contract for the cancelation fee (not that anyone would want to do that, if you're buying a phone, you are probably buying it to use a phone service); and that the fee provides services that are not available on Vita.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

well, he also didnt include the price of games for iphone. but he did include the price of a data plan for the Vita (which 99% of owners wont have).

so i would say it was a pretty fair comparison.

also you dont need memory cards to play vita.

anyway, im still not sold on Vita, i need to see more game before i commit.

Yeah, let's compare the library of a years old machine to a system that's not even out yet. That's fair.

And why does camera count as much as games?

have they compared 3ds with the iphone?

If they did, they probably trashed the 3DS for its inability to make phone calls.

Apples to oranges.

WOW what a terrible comparison....

Actually iphone 4S vs PSV tec wise is a nice comparison, but some of the categories used here are silly. I would have preferred an outright tec comparison. Comparing the battery and camera of a smartphone with a dedicated handheld gaming system is beyond stupid -_- You might as well add in categories like best graphics etc.

*sillyness*

Intel Core i7 3770K [3.5GHz]|MSI Big Bang Z77 Mpower|Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1866 2 x 4GB|MSI GeForce GTX 560 ti Twin Frozr 2|OCZ Vertex 4 128GB|Corsair HX750|Cooler Master CM 690II Advanced|

The 4S isn't even better than the latest Samsung or HTC phones, let alone the cheaper Vita which is a dedicated gaming handheld and not a phone.

Want to hear something really depressing? That individual probably gets paid to write tripe like that for a living. Let's hope I'm wrong.

It's a very good read and he makes some great points.
As much as I hate to admit it, the iPhone does win in the games category. Not only are there so much more games available, but they are available for $1-$10 and some are even free.

Article was okay but he made some big mistakes and dumb perspectives. Saying iPhone wins on games is asinine. I'm not even getting the Vita, but I've heard multiple times that Vitas launch lineup is the best for a console to date. This was just a crazy comment. He also bashed it for its battery in comparison to iPhone. U can't realistically expect a handheld battery to last as long as a phone. 3DS battery life is about he same as vitas, and Idt it even has as much battery taxing components like the vita display, etc.
