Jesus, Vita is such a horrible waste of money.... 3G... proprietary forced memory on a system with card based games... ugh...

Well for the asking price of all this Vita related stuff, this is a decent deal. You'll spend $300 on a wifi only system anyways when you include the memory card and a game, so might as well just get the 3G version anyways.

If you're getting the Vita... best bet would be to just pre-order this.

I'm just gonna say you are full of it. it may not be worth the money to 'you' but to many it will be definitely worth it. Unlike the 3ds, from a hardware pov, psv is not over priced at all. don't like the 3g version? stop bitching and get the wifi one, no one is forcing you to do otherwise

OT: fantastic deal, I might have to get this one

I guess my post I wasn't very clear, the wate of money part was in the specific features I mentioned; 3G and forced save cards. Vita itself is the same as any game console and its value is based on the content per everyone's tastes.

However, as for overpriced, etc... didn't a 3rd party company just state the cost of materials on the 3G model was around $160?

it's not a waste of money if people think it's worth it. same logic applies to 3g AND save cards. Not all games require it..don't like it? don't play those games. nothing is 'forced' here. I personally don't care much for 3g because to me as an individual it has little value but for some it will hold value...there are many who prefer to stay connected always and if you have the extra cash why not. seriously why whine tho? Sony have given plenty of options with the hardware so no one is forcing you to do anything.

and if you think 1. that information is rock solid 2. that's all that matters in pricing the hardware ..that is a sad notion in itself.

To associate teh Vita with a PSN account, you have to have a save card. Basically, no matter what, one card is mandatory and yes 3G on this device, as discussed in detail in other threads, is a massive waste of money in upfront costs and monthly fees.

@those responding to me regarding the materials cost... I specifically said it was "the cost of materials" so, yeah I know its not including tons of other costs associated. It was a rebuttal to 3DS raping people at $250 when in reality it was just making the typical profit all companies strive for and now its losing money.... and that material costs suggests that Sony isn't really losing a whole lot, if any, so long as they have a typical demand/sales curve.

Your post was clearly trying to make out Sony were over charging on the thing... you're just back tracking now people have explained the situation a bit clearer. I don't see how 3G can be described as a waste of money either when it's a completely optional thing... if someone spends that extra money it's 100% their own decision. If anything we should be praising Sony for giving people more choice.

The card situation is very undesirable but it's hardly new ground in the video games market. The PS3 is the only Sony console not to have some sort of mandatory extra proprietory memory storage - and I had to buy memory cards for my N64, Gamecube and Wii.

wait again a card is NOT mandatory to play games which is the primary focus of the system. and again no 3g can be valuable to people who find it useful. it's not a waste of money. heck if i had the extra cash I would buy it as well. so again stop whining about it, if you don't want constant connectivity then don't buy it, simple

and again the fact that ninty will be able to post a profit so soon after the hefty price cut shows it was overpriced. this attempt of yours is getting a bit sad now

Constant connectivity, for what to look at your account and trophies? lol... you can't even play multiplayer over 3G. Basically, just download the PSN app on your phone and you get most of the same features at no extra cost. Then use the messaging/talk on phone and you have more features.

it might be 'lol' to you but people enjoy that..wth would anyone want 3g on smart phones then? they can make calls without it too..it's to browse, use apps, skype, GPS etc. there ARE people enjoying these things...hence the 'option' ..no one is forcing you...

Why do you all keep using the 'no one's forcing you' and 'its optional' to defend items that have the greater majority of people up in arms about.

The minute Sony said save cards were all but mandatory (its pretty much guaranteed that any user will have one) and they they were proprietary and expensive... these forums and all others blew up in disgust and stupidity behind the whole thing.

The minute people realized the monthly cost, up front cost, and lack of any multiplayer on 3G, the majority proclaimed it was a bad choice, stupid, etc... heck its had horrible sales on top of that to further show that majority consider it a waste of money.

Buying a Lamborghini, Coach purse, etc are all wastes of money regardless if a few people are willing to spend the insane money on them. Fact is, its wasteful spending that could have been prevented.

Sony could have used SD cards and saved everyone tons of money whiles still offering the exact same experience. 3G could have just been left out in total and probably help Sony recoup costs faster due to having one sku and simpler manufacturing/delivery process.

I give up superchunk..you will miss the point if the point came to life and ran a parade in front of you

Not bad offer, and they added more value to the first edition bundle as well, sweet deal for a launch.

No, my opinion just matches the majority of opinions and you just feel the need to defend some faceless company.

But, you're posts have always been like that with Sony, so, meh it is what it is.

Why didn't they go with the 8GB memory card bundle in the first place? It's a much better deal than the old one. Oh well, at least some people are happy with this.

facepalm..that statement right there just shows how clueless you are really

I could also say your posts have always been about 'omfg I predicted the same shit everyone else did but unlike others I'm gonna repeat them I'm like some messiah in the devine world of gaming and ninty is da superiorz' as well but I wont :) cuz I have not seen all your posts and frankly I don't care to even bother to judge

I'm not even gonna bother defending myself against that stupid accusation ...those who know me have seen me promotoe wifi version, have argued against mem cards, bad games etc etc from day 1. Unlike you however I try to see the situation from all pov as possible and understand different people will view these offers differently

like i said..not even a parade will do the trick nw..so let's end this here

Very nice. However, I'm still just buying the regular one.

But why?  You can just not get a 3g subscription and be perfectly find and dandy.

Really? Well fuck, I wasn't aware of that. Still, I'm short on money. I don't see myself buying this until after about 2  months after release.

The memory cards are the reason Vita is sold at a reasonable price. Otherwise the console would be at least $50 higher. Maybe you can tell us the difference between expensive console+cheap card and cheaper console+more expensive card.

How can sony save money if they use SD cards? This is as mind blowing as the guy who were saying if Sony made PSN subscription based the sales would increase.
