I wasn't serious. Of course there are a lot of other things that affect the cost of an electronic device. Hardware cost is only one of the many things, you mentioned some of them. They don't profit from the hardware that is for sure, but I guess with the memory cards it shouldn't be too bad. The cost mentioned seems believable though, generally high end phones cost about $150.

I am definitely buying one too. I am actually surprised how it sells this bad in Japan, what can you ask for more? It is my dream handheld, jope it starts better in everywhere else.

The lack of Japanese oriented software is the only thing that comes to mind. That time also had Final Fantasy XIII-2, Monster Hunter 3G(3DS?), and I believe a Mario game, so it's not suprising it didn't do amazingly. It will do better in time.


also the strength of the psp is a big factor. the device is still selling well..and cheaper and getting the sw support big time..as the psp gets phased out psv shall rise.

I'm not sure I understand the question..it was always wifi only and 3g/wifi model ...they have different bundles and promotions but sku wise those two were there from the start

When it was initially announced, the 3G version didn't have Wi-Fi compatibility. Right? No? I seem to remember this being part of the literature.

wait so just to clarify

1. 3g model also has wifi right?

2. and you can do multiplayer using wifi on that model right?

 No, there's the Wifi-only and 3g-wifi (With both). Always been that way.

 Give it a month tops (I predict 2 weeks) and you'll see a Vita + memory card + game for less then £200. I don't base this on any 'insider knowledge' (Although I do know the retailers buy the Wifi model for £170) but simply my observations of the UK games market in general. Whatever you do if you're from the UK don't buy the Vita on launch day as better deals will be avaliable before March.
