If I understood it correctly, than you need streetpass to unlock the purple pieces. I use the few streetpass contacts I get to unlock the normal puzzles first, so I can't really say if it works to unlock them with streetpass.

Yeah. Always shuffle through the puzzles to see if you can grab a purple piece when you streetpass someone.

You can gain 10 a day, and hold up to 300 (I was an early 3DS owner, so spent a few months maxed out after clearing Find Mii and the initial ~7 puzzle panels. I hear you can unlock AR stuff too, but I don't care for AR games. The new flip note thing has unlocks on it (like 15 to unlock audio clip attachments).

Hrm. Maybe it's due to my job, but I can't keep up with carrying my 3DS constantly everywhere I go. I've had mine for about nine months now and I think the most I've ever had at one time was around 130.

I wish there were a special case for the 3DS that let me carry it on my hip or arm or something. A lot of times I find myself walking a lot and I think, "Fuck. I don't have my 3DS with me!". It's not even about the play coins. I just like going for my walking record. I used to try and cheat by sitting and tapping the system on my lap but I don't do that anymore.

My kid took her 3DS to the mall on Sunday and got a record 5 streetpass hits in one day. I was pissed because my 3DS was sitting at home in its cradle.

I'm doing the find mii quest for the 2nd time...I think I'm down to like 40 coins

it sucks that you only get 10 coins a day....it's a total downer having to wait 2 says to do a good play of find mii, you should get ten coins every 100 steps you take, now that I'm back in school I do about 4000-5000 steps a day....I want to be rewarded!!!
