Sounds to me like you need another job... or maybe just lower standards :D

Nope, I bought my Wii in Chile for 400 USD (at that time in country it was 600 USD).

My problem with the Wii U is that I'm going to pay a lot of money for a console where 95% of its library is composed by ports of PC games.

I can't see it costing more then $350. Nintendo is a gaming console only. It probably won't even play dvds. I don't see how many are saying that the Wii U proved its graphical superiority at last year's E3. I saw some pretty sweet demos, but nothing difinitive. I truly hope that it is at least on par with the PS3, or it will probably sink fast. I, realistically don't want to pay more then $300. I think it will be about that price, considering what happened with the 3DS.

Why would anyone want anything to cost anything but the very least?

I wish Nintendo would do what MS and Sony do, sell their system at a loss.

Let's say it costs Nintendo $219.67 to make a Wii U and a controller, (I'm just making that number up as an example.) If it cost that, I'd like Nintendo to sell it for $199.99 with at least one Wii U controller, a Wii-Mote/Nunchuk, a Wii U Sports multi-game pack, and some kind of collectable.

I'm a consumer, I don't care about anything but getting the most for my dollar. Nintendo, like Sony and MS will make back all the money they lose on the systems through licensing 3rd party games. And when they redesign the insides and reduce the productions costs they can both drop the price and break even or make profit from each console sold. Until then Nintendo should give me a deal for going out and buying a new product that hasn't proven itself yet.

You won't be buying it then. That was the Wii's launch price, it will for sure be at least 50-150$ more.

So I will wait until a price cut =)

I still have plenty of Wii and some PC games waiting in my backlog.

Same goes for me: I'll wait for the first price cut (which will be from 349.99 to 299.99 ofcourse) and let them sort out all the bugs first... I've never been a early adopter, you just lose money that way :P

If I understood it right, games and consoles are in general more expansive "down under", right? That gotta suck...

But! The Library won't be 95% ports from the PC... You will always have the awesome games from Nintendo itself, and (IF Big N plays their cards right) you'll have stronger 3rd party support this time around, and that's quite nice. It really depends on how Wii U holds up to the soon-to-come Nextbox and PS4...

The Wii U should definitely be better at competing with the Wii than the PS4/720 with their predecessors though.

$599 U.S dollars. They were the market leaders this gen and this console is revolutionary. All the rich, hipsters, and fanboys will buy it at that price the first couple months and Nintendo will give the owners system breaking updates so it will be ok to drop the price later a couple months and I guess give the early adopters a gift card or something.

Or, just release it with wii sports 3 and the I will buy it at whatever price it's at.
