$349. I guess they could go as low as $299 if they are panic mode (and would only post small losses) but I think Nintendo plans to release the console for $349 with a bundled game, probably the "Chase Mii" etc. demoes we've seen. They'll try to provide a strong launch line-up to justify the higher price point I guess with Mario Bros. leading the pack, one "core" game, one game that comes in a bundle with the second tablet controller and one game of the "Wii" series (probably Wii Sports or Wii Fit since they keep talking about those games as if they are in development already).

I agree with HappySquirrel and Shadowfest3, somewhere between 300 and 400 should be the right price, and I'll add Wiisports3 bundled with it.
If it's more than 350 they should also add, in the first months, a couple of free-download games, as a loyalty reward. Something like Super Mario Bros 3 HD and Art Academy to test WiiU touchscreen.

300$ for hardware + 100$ for Nintnendo logo on top of it.

For my sake: $250 (it's more than justified given all software I've bought recently)

It's essentially a Wii HD so anything between 300-400AUD not even USD.

Of course they could make the Wii U much more powerful, but Nintendo has never tried to compete with the graphical capabilities, high-end GPU and CPU will only make the console too expensive and they won't stand a chance anyway when Nextbox and PS4 arrive. Why would they make it Uber-powerful? The Wii sold the most consoles this gen despite having the worst specs.

I never implied the Wii U to be considerably more powerful than the PS4/720 or even on par with those consoles. I just don't see why you expect the Wii U to be on par with the PS360, which will be past gen consoles when the Wii U. The've only followed the route of using last gen hardware one time, and that was with the Wii. Nintendo has said themselves that they want to attract more 3rd party support and go after the hardcore, so I don't see why it's unreasonable to assume the Wii U to be at least more powerful than the PS360.

I would love it to be like $500 so it flops. But that's just because I'm not a nintendo fan at all and wouldn't buy it regardless even if it was $20.

And I never implied that you said that. My point was that Nintendo knows that PS4 and Nextbox (I don't like 720, sounds awful) will be much better spec-wise, so they'll just go with good but still affordable hardware. The touchscreen alone will thrive the price up, adding a powerful hardware will make it unattractive for Nintendo's main market, the casuals. And they don't need to make it considerably stronger than PS3 or 360. 3rd party support will come, 3rd party developers just complained because the Wii had no HD support. Now that HD is pretty much established, Nintendo will have way less problems to find support from 3rd parties.

And for the record, of course I think it will more cabable than the current HD consoles, but I'm just thinking the difference won't be that much. Don't forget that the Wii U will need to calculate graphics for essentially two screens, maybe Nintendo will find a neat solution to reduce needed power for two-screen support, but that's all speculation for now.

Also, you didn't gave me the source I asked you for. And I want to know how you could possibly know the other underlined part.

Under £200 would be great, but realistically I'd still be happy at £250.
