Sharing entertainment digitally is similar to letting someone borrow your entertainment physically like say your DVD.

lol

Except you dont give it back!

I think a perfect example would be

yeah but they would have to say:

imagine you are a car seller and instead of 5 people stealing the cars and 20 buying them, 20 copy the cars and they are still there and 5 buy a car^^

Congratulations SOPA I guess

Your sig is perfect for this! XD

I once hated his sig because I literally clicked ten times on it until I realized it's just a pic. Now I love it because I imagine all the other users making the same damn mistake as me.

... I'm a culprit of it too XD

A bit of a stretch to accuse the site owners for conspiring to advocate piracy imo. I wonder how far the charges will go or what the final judgement would be.

A sad day indeed.

Man, that sucks hard!

Didn't use it a lot, but it still sucks for the internet world.

YouTube won't be killed especially since it's owned by Google.

Sucks. A lot of the Android devs use this to distribute their roms and such. For my personal use, I just use dropbox. But for public stuff, I'd have to use one of the many file sharing sites.

They probably shut it down as it was also a MAJOR site used to deliver black market movies. Probably a few others on the same chopping block.

There needs to be a way which allows for people who have legitimate reason to share files, to be able to do so in a public place. The problem lies in the fact that these services are too often abused by those wanting to flaunt copyright laws. Google are doing quite a good job with Youtube, but they've been able to develop algorithms which can pick up content which is copyright. There needs to be a way to do this with file downloads... but it is probably impossible due to how easy it is to hide the contents of a file.

True, but in this case I'm pretty sure megaupload hasn't taken good actions to remove content when presented with evidence.

Supposedly it was nocked out with no help from any organization, it was the Feds.

how exactly can the us government of justice or whoever shut down megaupload? it's a company based in hongkong right? without trial? just because they like and for everyone on this planet not only americnas?

just imagine let's say island doesn't like this or that internet company like youtube and they shut down all of them just because they like wtf? island would kill itself with this^^
