I only looked at the overall before.

Just looked at the other awards, and Portal 2 didn't win Game of the Year on any platform.

How can IGN put it as the overall GotY, but not have it as GotY on any platform? Because Skyrim pissed all over so many PS3 owners?

I am surprised Call Of Duty MW3 didn't get Best Shooter all of those I can contend with except Forza 4 over Mario Kart 7 . cause Forza 4 was just like 3 to much .

 

I guess COD is catching up to it self   having Goldeneye reloaded come just before MW 3 did not help it either. so good choices . but wished goldeneye actually got somthing   for a Re-Remake it was good .

LOL not sure if serious because Mario Kart is just like all others marios racing games lool

Forza is way better i mean Mario is good if you are 9 years old.

One thing I hate about that list is the Overall game of the year. NOT that its not deserving, just doesn't make sense to me for a game to be overall game of the year yet not be game of the year on its respective console. How are Skyrim and Uncharted better than Portal 2 in one section and the very same section not better?

Uncharted 3 is a PS3 exclusive, Skyrim is buggy on PS3. Overall game of the year is probably just an average of all of its versions.

You don't seem to understand.

Portal 2 is the best game in their opinon out of EVERY GAME MADE IN 2011.  That includes Uncharted 3, Skyrim, MW3, ect you name it.  THUS should it not be best ps3 game, best 360 game, best pc game?

I think he does.  Realistically these things are probably decided by voting and if Portal 2 was second in the PS3, 360, and plausibly PC lists and then when you put all those voters together it'll win overall.  Same reason inconsistencies occur in our goty awards on this site.
