Generalizing a group of people like this isn't okay either. Every group has stupid people, and not everyone in a group is stupid. Don't judge people based on political alignment; rather, take the time to talk to them and you may find you agree on more than you thought. Even if you don't agree on much, at least you took the time to understand their point of view and can sympathize with it, even if you still disagree. You'll make fewer people angry when you talk politics too, as you won't be infuriating half of the country whenever you make a comment like this.

Guidance, really? When do we draw the line? If you ask me, it's this idea that every criminal is misguided, every criminal is a victim themselves, or every act of crime has a justified reason behind it is what is killing this society.

If you are a conservative and consider environmentalism important, an end to poverty, a solution to overpopulation, an end to warfare, racism, and any other prejudices based on race or religion - an you call yourself conservative - then you are supporting an ideology that fundamentally exists as a roadblock to your own beliefs.

Conservatism by the very nature of the term is a backwards philosophy, and the last time a conservative party was in charge of the US we saw a rise in racism against Islamic people, warfare, and economic disaster

Whether or not I'm conservative, liberal, or somewhere inbetween is completely irrelevant. I'm saying that you shouldn't call conservatives nutcases, or blame them for perpetuating racism, because for the majority of them, that simply is not true. And saying that it is is very naive and hateful. Do not judge people based on that. You're entitled to believe that conservatism is wrong and backwards, but to judge people based on that alone, calling them racist and nutcases, is very narrowminded. I've met both liberals and conservatives who were wonderful people. I've also met some of both who were arrogant, hateful, and all around awful people.
