I'm actually surprised by the quality of this dub. I thought NHK was kind of a less known anime. I've seen big budget animes with way worse dubs. |
NHK is Funimation right? Cause Funimation has actually built up their dubs. I don't think they use the actors from the Full Metal Alchemist era anymore, but they should still be good (Women are a hit and miss though, I watched a bit of Sekirei on Netflix and it wasn't to pleasing on the ears). Viz uses Ocean almost always (They decided to use other voice cast for Naruto which was a mistake. Bleach got away with a decent cast though). Not sure who Super Sentai or Media Blasters use. Not sure who's left. Bandai pulled out. Manga hasn't licensed an anime in a real long time (They do make UK and Australia dubs though). Not sure who's left. There's probably older groups who used to lisence anime, but they're probably all defunct now, like Geneon/ADV but I believe they used to use Ocean as well.
I do. It's hard to tell when an anime has been censored or not though.

http://myanimelist.net/anime/2993/Rosario_+_Vampire - 8/10 Dropped Queen's blade because I just couldnt wait for a new episode and wasnt that interested. I might get back into it sometime in the future. Recommend Amagami if you are into romance storylines - Rosario + Vampire is ok but its a mess mostly cause its a Harem type anime. Vandread is pretty unique like gender wars but plenty of fan service. |
Do you remember Tenchi muyo? One of my favs Harem Animes. Rosario + Vampire lol watched that on netflix.

I watched one of the shows (I think there were multiple ones o.o), Tenchi Universe was the one I watched. |
Yeah, there is a lot huh?

Only about 3-4 Movies in will things start to make sense.
Former something....
Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha! I'm currently on episode 9 of StrikerS.
The first series started slow, but got really good really fast subsequently.
Helps that it feeds my inner yuri fan, and that the show is girly only in its aesthetic (toned down to naught in StrikerS, which would be a stock shonen anime if you gender-flipped everyone)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Yep...and after checking the list I havent seen half of it T_T |
I I have seen Tenchi Muyo & Tenchi Universe & Tenchi Tokyo, that is the order. Tenchi Universe is the best follow by Tenchi Tokyo. universe has the most episodes too, and Tokyo has the least episodes, but I wasn't surprise abouttthathat because there was't enough material left that they could have done, plus they kept the quality of each episode pretty good in Tokyo.

Best way to do it. I personally stick with what I start with. If I start with an English dub, then it's best to stick with it (There are actual occasions when I like the English dub better). If I start Japanese, then listening to the English dub is like listening to nails on a chalk board. Though I'll say, English dubs have come a long way. I might actually start listenning to anime English dubbed if I buy them (Unless the English dub sounds terrible like Yu Yu Hakusho). |
Actually it's best to watch the first 1 or 2 episodes in both Dub & Sub to figure out which one has the best dialogue. And then you watch the rest in the one format that had the best dialogue.
Thats what I do.

Used to be a big fan of Tenchi :) Seen them all (including the movies) apart from Tokyo - heard some pretty bad things about it, so I skipped it. Is Tokyo worth watching?
