So let's just do a inaccurate and conservative calculation:

If theoretically 39M xbl users pay 40 bucks per year for XBL, the revenue figure would be:

1.560 Billion USD...

Sick!

no that's (short of) 40 million Gold and Silver members. AFAIR 60% of them are Gold members. Meaning around $1b in subsription revenue.
even though I'd say that the normal price for a subsrciption would lean more towards $50-$55 ($60 being official price + Europeans paying more)

So more like $1.2b

Ah, my bad, thought someone claimed close to 40M paid subribers.

But I think we can agree, $1.2B is still sick!

Wonder if they'll reach 50m subscribers (60% meaning 30m gold) by end of 2013

According to Eurogamer article Ps3 is overtracked by 0.7M, it covers 21st November to 5th January the 3.9M and we have it at 4.6M. Probably overtracked in Europe and AP/MEA.

360 undertracked by 1.6M , probably undertracked in Europe and A/MEA by ALOT.

with all the apps they are adding definitely a possibility.  i dont know why they dont partner with netflix and other providers negotiate for a 50% discount for xbl users.

Considering the rate XBL has been expanding at for the past few years, I would say Q1 - Q2 2013 is more likely than than Q3 - Q4 2013.

Netflix is already on there though? Does better on Wii as well I believe ...

But yeah, this time last year they were at 30m, so they've gone up 10m, should shoot past 50m! Perhaps 60m then, meaning 36m gold members.

Damn man thats alot!! its 40M right now, maybe >20M Gold.. They will eventually go on to 60/70M for sure and thats alot of accounts and alot of money! I wonder what will happen once next gen starts, i mean people will keep playing 360 and using it as a media device but probably growth will stop being this huge since Xbox 720 will cost much more... i guess

Shouldn't be much of a problem.
             20m in Q2 2009
             23m in Q2 2010
             25m in Q3 2010
almost 35m in Q2 2011
almost 40m in Q4 2011

Could already be achieved this year if the 360 sells just as well as last year.
