What is the deal with Nintendo over there? We had problems with SS as well with its U.K sales.

Well and truly Xbox country

Despite having been outsold by the Wii?!  It's moving towards the Xbox, but for a good few years the Wii was consistently the higher selling console.

We're in the present now, so Wii dominating the 360 2 years ago isn't really relevent to this thread.

I don't think a statement like "well and truly Xbox country" can be validated based on a time period of your choosing - it's a generational statement and should be evaluated as such.  If the PS3 outsold the Wii and X360 in the UK next year (and even the year after), that would not make it "well and truly" PS3 country.

The OP is talking about the present and why retailers are treating the Wii the way it is, don't be so anal about my comment, I'm spot on.

The last 2 years the 360 has been dominating Wii here, and going forward will too. It'll overtake the Wii lifetime at some point late 2012 onwards.

Wii selling well and being the #1 choice here was a long time ago now. The country has well and truly moved onto Xbox, the way they did with the Wii against the PS2.

The facts don't support your comment, so you're not.

lol xbox360 will never out sell wiis lifetime world wide sales its too late kid, for it to do so it would need to out sell wii in every country by two to 1 and its not even doing that! and ps3 is not even in contention either

the main reason could be the nintendo wii u launching this year - with less and less wii games being made -- they may be considering making room for that console as for 3ds i dont know maybe their retarded countries can be like that

Who said 360 will outsell the Wii WW, can you not read the title? UK.

My friend, would you like me to find a entire array of facepalm pictures and post them?

I believe the laughable responses to your post deem them necesarry

Simple fact, Wii dominated before, it's fallen from grace, Xbox is dominating now, and will surpass Wii's LTD IN THE UK. <-- Sum-up for anyone that has trouble reading.

Um... how about:

Wii big before. Xbox big now. Xbox LTD will be bigger than Wii in UK.

All this big talk ....

I'm not disputing that the 360 is currently selling better - to infer that point from what's been put only raises questions about the literacy of the one inferring. I simply rejected the claim that the UK is "well and truly Xbox" country - this rejection was based on the fact that it still trails one of it's current competitors by around 1 million units despite having been on sale for a year longer and the understanding that for a country to be "well and truly" one thing or another its marketshare would have to be pretty emphatic (perhaps around 50%). This is not the case for the 360 in the UK, even if only the last year or two were considered.

But we're talking about the present .. in the summer months, 360 was getting more than 50% marketshare weekly.

How does saying Wii is ahead in marketshare for the overall gen answer anything in the OP? It doesn't. It's irrelvent.

I'm with Seece on this one- the 360 has as much, if not more, following in the UK as it does in the US. It's madness

True, the 360 is the console choice of this generation in the UK. Its rather strange, seeing how most Europe is dominated by the PS3, yet this little island nation decides they will do otherwise I think it pretty obvious that the Wii will never regain not even a bit of its momentum, pricecut or not, so the rest of the world is up for grabs for the 360 and PS3.

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I think Wii software sales have just plummeted in the UK, and the retailers obviously respond on turn. This xmas for the UK was FIFA, Battlefield, Skyrim and COD (And Just Dance 3 tbf). Barely even seen Zelda mentioned, Sonic and Mario is surprisingly absent baring in mind London are hosting the olympics too.
