Hmmm, I haven't played SMRPG that much but it sounds pretty good. I might get it for VC on wii if it's available

It was released to the Virtual Console in 2008.

Also I cant believe how many people there are who never played Super Mario RPG...wth is wrong with you people D:

I think the thing that bothers me more is the fact that Paper Mario is beating mario RPG, and a lot of people consider Mario RPG to be inferior to all other games in the poll...like what the hell?  Normally I'm all for people having their opinions, but that's just wrong!

Mario RPG is a classic, one of the best games of all time, the Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi are GOOD, but not even in the same league.

I voted Paper Mario.....  but I love Super Marior RPG more.  It was a great game at the time....  but it has NOT aged well.  I think Paper Mario is more timeless and unique, that's why it got the nod.

I have the feeling that most of the people that dislike SMRPG are younger, it just really feels dated compared to the other two series and if you played them all for the first time today you would probably agree.

Not aged well? Chrono Trigger was re-released and was pretty popular on the NDS and now it was recently released on the iOS. They made close to no changes (except for the extra lavos boss) in the NDS and iOS ports.

SMRPG is in the same league as Chrono Trigger and FFVI lol.

You people need to go out and play it D:<

Graphics, who cares if a game ages or not, are you seriously implying you play games based on graphics D:!?

@Runa - Yeah I totally agree, Paper mario and the mario&luigi were good, but they pale in comparison to SMRPG.

Still disagree....actually played through Chrono Trigger a few months back.  Gameplay is still fun and the sprite work is great.

I just CAN NOT get into SMRPG anymore.  It feels sooo slow, especially compared to Paper Mario, and the prerendered DK Country style graphics just don't look good anymore.

All my opinion ofcourse.

ALSO - I'm not saying that I play games because of graphics, I'm merely stating that it has an effect when comapring two similiar games to people that didn't play them when they came out, which is partially why so many people have voted Paper Mario.

I like them all, but if i had to pick, then Paper Mario for the N64

e=mc^2

Paper Mario!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this is weird of me to say, but I honestly don't see how anyone could say Mario RPG isn't as good as Paper Mario or Mario and Luigi...The story is better, the graphics are better, the audio is superior in every way, the gameplay is equal (in my opinion better, but I could see why someone would prefer paper mario or Mario and Luigi's combat style), it's longer, has more side quests, etc...

not to mention it's cuter and funnier than any paper mario or mario and luigi. Again, those other games are good in all respects, and all of the mario RPG games are special, but there will always be a place in my heart for The Seven Stars.

Super Mario RPG

What a fantastic game. It had so many secrets to find. I loved walking around exploring the towns and other areas. No other game looked like it on the SNES. It was mind blowing at the time. I love the battle system, too. The ative battle system kept it much more interesting than other RPGs I had played at the time.

I like Super Mario RPG all right, but The Thousand Year Door was a much better game in all the ways that matter for an RPG.

Never have played Mario and Luigi, though. Trying to find a copy of Bowser's Inside Story.

OMG, this one is easy.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, EASILY!

If you have not played it yet, meanwhile are voting for something other than it, do yourself a service and play it first before giving your vote. Good chance your vote will be swayed.

Interestingly  (or not), this did not happen

Paper Mario: TTYD > SMRPG > Paper Mario > all Mario & Luigi games.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

"Good Chance" =/= 100%

OT:   How recent is your "Currently Playing"? Curious to know your opinion on Vagrant Story. Personally, I love it and I still feel the graphics hold up preally well.

I wish they would remake it.
