it is hilarious to think some of ye guys want the vita to die for childish reasons. these doom threads and comments need to stop. will sony ever get a break?

I don't think Sony messed anything. They didn't have time to produce more units to launch it before Christmas in more than one region. As such, they chose Japan as it is their home and where the PSP found greatest success. As far as I can see, this was a perfectly rational decision, the one I would have taken if I was in charge.

Regarding the price, I agree it is too high to move many units. However, Sony already stated they are selling at loss at $249. Perhaps they cannot go lower at this point. As the internal numbers are trade secret, there is no way we can actually know if they could risk a lower entry price.

of course it will sell better! it has them good graphics duh!! its going to win this generation not just the first 3 months even though it sold less on launch and even lesser than less on the second week on a holiday and had better games!

it all makes perfect sense and is perfectly logical that it will sell better in its first 3 months just as Do0m3D Nintendo is even though they sell huge amounts of games and consoles!

No chance. Doing 70k in the busiest week in Japan is not a good omen.

Vita might do well in the long run, in fact i think it will. But in the first three months (which is what he was talking about) i can't see it.

The Japanese numbers are horrible right now. People can try and look at it how they choose but in it's 2nd week, the busiest time of the year if demand was high they would be sold out. They had only sold 50% of the first shipment in the first week.

Vita will sell loads in the US. Because it is a lot cheaper then everywhere else. To offset this the console is higher in price everywhere else. For example in the UK it is 40% more expensive then in the US. People in the UK are not stupid, they are not fanboys to any console. They don't care which country makes it. But what they do care about is price. At £230+ £40 for the memory card i can't see that flying off the shelves at all.

So IF everything stays as it is then it will do well in US but bomb everywhere else. The question is then will the US sales be enough to beat 3ds worldwide sales? Unlikely.

So..... Pachter is cursed or something?
Sony must be furious that he jinxed them.

Its all about that remote play ability plus the games and everything else it can do near, graphics just an amazing handheld.
