Not so sure about PSP as Sony will probably sell it in developing markets for ages. I would say fifty-fifty chance. For the topic itself this milestone really shows how much gaming market has grown during all those years after NES was launched. This gen we will have three consoles that sold more than NES that won its gen. Amazing.

X360 is rapdily outpacing PSP and will outsell it lifetime. It's shipments are decreasing fast as well. They're shipping 6m vs 15m~ X360 this year so the gap has closed 9 mill just from that.


Yeah. Didn't remember how fast PSP was dying. GBA is still also withing the X360 grasp. Should end up to sixth or seventh place with PS3 in all time HW list.

My perdiction for X360 sales:

64 mill at end of year 2011
another 12 mill in 2012
another 8 mill in 2013
another 6 mill rest of life

NES had a lot of awful games, consoles had a lot of manufacturing issues (mine lasted less than a year), but I still love it as my first console.

ok this was not only a console but still, i think the c64 started it all. at least for me and most of my friends who play videogames so at leat in germany many people started to like games with the c64 no clue about other markets.

ah the c64 :)  i even had the c128 and amiga lol

Yeah, but at least you can fix your NES (most of the time) with some basic technologic knowledge.

My original NES still works without a problem. :)
